Uh..............................swap out abs for one pose?

The hell is this - Power Pose Mk 3? :slap

The portrait looks okay but not Iron Man 1 Stark to me at all. It will be in the box for life.

You do understand that the first iron man armor, the original mk3 has no ab articulation. So like the first 8 releases did not have any ab crunch that has become this be all end all. (Iron monger, mk1, mk2a, mk2b, mk3reg, mk3bd, mk3 silly things all had no ab crunch. Stop acting like this is some crazy scam where)

And it can do the "iconic" pose that everyone said they wanted the ab crunch for. So exactly what pose are you wanting to do that this can't do?

There's no justification for it other than them being weird about it and not including it from the start. Them not having it on a figure 7 years ago is a lame and odd excuse to use when trying to defend why this one doesn't have it.

They were lazy, forgot, didn't bother, etc when putting this figure together from the start and that's probably the real reason for it. Every IM figure since the Mark 4 in 2010 had it and it just looks lazy and unfortunate for a 2.0/3.0 release in 2015 to exclude it. That's all there is too it.

well it seems u have to swap out the torso to have either the ground pound or the chest reveal, i guess it was meant to try to please everybody. Not sure how i feel about it though, not sure if i will even use those swap out pieces.

Yep this exactly. Lazy move period. I now expect something similar for the MK45,lets hope not:monkey1

I find the interchangeable abs as weird as HT not getting the color right while they did so the first time. I think HT failed to MAXIMIZE the opportunity of fully improving the Mark III by not adding the ab articulation the first version didn't have, while making the proportion and sculpt better. It's not only for the ground pose. It's a great feature for dynamic/semi-dynamic poses and stances.

It wasn't lazy. They didn't forget. It's not an eff you to certain fans. It was a design choice. It allowed for devolpmnet of the mk3 construction version, and the removable chest and stomach plate. The figure can still do nearly any pose any other figure can do. Including the pose that everyone has cited as reason why it's a required thing to have an extra .4 millimeters of movement.

If hot toys had not tried some strange lazy gimmick there would never have been the ab crunch you are so upset about. So they changed it for one figure to try something else out, something that is geared toward those that would rather have an option to use for display other then some odd Pilates pose..

Forward thinking and attempting to try a new feature. But sure, lazy. If it's not something you like it's lazy. Or they must have forgot. That's it.

While the lack of ab articulation isn't a deal breaker for me, it'll make more natural poses impossible for this figure. Just watch yourself move in the mirror, you rarely stand perfectly straight with your stomach and chest facing exactly the same way. A lack of ab crunch will make the figure too stiff for certain poses.

That said, I'm keeping this on a museum pose, or close to it. So while I wish it had more ab movement, it's not something I'd lose sleep over.

Bitching aside, this is a great looking figure! I haven't started my payments on it yet - how long do I have? (UK).

OK just to clarify I"M KEEPING MY ORDER FOR THIS!!! This looks good to me aside from the NOT IM1 Tony Stark hs. Ok all i got left for this yr is John Matrix and Hulk.

does the new mk3 neck seem too short there? I mean i know the new one has that shorter neck to probably allow the head to sit back further. I really do like the look of the mk3 helmet though, it looks sleek there.

So version 1 has the more accurate color scheme for the armor. So amid all the "discussion" in the posts above I'm sharing some real life pics I gotten frrom FB.

Proportions have been improved although I still find it a little lacking.
