Figure arrived the other day. Quick impression is nothing that hasn't been said.

Lack of any chest/waist articulation, is really disappointing. Having that bit of movement has always been welcomed and his entire front section just facing straight the entire time without using the over exaggerated IM pose chest piece is disappointing. First thing I did when I opened him up was try to move him around but he's just stuck there.

They even downgraded his shoulder articulation, removing the option of pulling it in and out. Zero ankle articulation also causes any poses with his legs spread look awkward as well.

Overall the figure feels like it's a prototype. As if they designed it half way from being a statue to a figure, said **** it and just stopped caring about the figure.
The undies breaking apart every single time you move the legs is also annoying.

I enjoy and love the overall armor sculpt though. It looks great and the proportions look fantastic. It's just lacking features here and there that could have made the figure better than what it is. The only reason I'm keeping the figure is because I love the Mark 3. If it was anything else it would have been returned. The figure just feels half assed and pushed out the door.

Just got the e-mail confirming my last flex payment on the 5th. I should finally have this guy in about a week, and despite the figure's shortcomings (emphasis on "short" :lol) I'm totally excited! :yess:

:goodpost: I agree with pretty much all of this. The height doesn't really bother me but the lack of articulation does. But IMO its the most iconic suit and possibly the only one I will keep besides the 43. The figures shortcomings would have been easier to live with if it wasn't north of 300 bills.

Why would you want to put a Mark VI pinhead on the III? It probably would not look good. Mark VI lid is way too skinny and will look off with the larger MkIII upper body now for sure.

Because Mark 3 helmet is not accurate. The red top "square" is off. Too wide at the top.

Well, I've thought about it over night, and I'm going to either sell or try to trade this for the Mark 43. I only need one IM to put in my Avengers lineup, and as great as this looks I want one that fits more naturally into a group setting. I'll never display it alone, so the size will always be a noticeable issue.

I wanted this because it's classic, but I guess the 43 suits my needs more.

Awesome. I can sleep better knowing this. So go out it on the BST thread and stop updating the thread daily you are wanting to sell it.

Oh noes, more drama? Why would anyone want to be a mod?

So height, articulation in the abs and ankle, colour.... Of those shortcomings it's only the ankle articulation that disappoints me. Decreases some of the dynamic posing possibilities. But hey, I'm in total agreement with you. I love the suit and I've posted before how it reminds me so much of the comic book iteration. I've seen enough reviews and pictures and listened to both sides ( lovers and haters) that I am positive I'll love this figure and many others will too.
And if I wasn't already getting the 1/4 scale 43 I would have bought the 1/6th scale 43 that as well. A good blend of old (MKIII) with the new (MK43).

Just got an email informing me that my last payment for this would be charged next Thursday ... dammit, was hoping it would be an offer for early processing haha Soon enough ... soon enough.

The height isn't a problem for me either as I'm displaying him with Iron Monger but I can see the issue with displaying him with other figs. To me RDJ is short so if Cap is taller or if it's the same height as Hawkeye(is he? I don't know) it wouldn't be a problem for me.

Might be worth a shot to login to your SS account and view the order page, as sometimes there's a button there you need to click for early processing. They don't always send an email about it.
