You're only seeing what you want to. Complimenting a figure yet saying it's not for my collection isn't bashing. I'm just as free to post where and when as anyone else. If you don't want to read my posts, scroll right on past them. You're not some forum super-cop so keep your argumentative comments to yourself.

I am seeing perfectly, you want to trade your figure and were plastering the board looking for takers. Thats not hard to see. You are complimenting it to get someone to trade for it. Why would you be negative on a figure you are openly trying to trade. That would be a "stupid" thing to say trying to get the end result you are trying to achieve.

I've commented in the thread a couple times a day since Tuesday, hardly "plastering". Seems like you gotta be pretty dense if you don't understand... Let me spell it out for you: visually I think it's a fantastic looking figure, but the smaller size makes it unsuitable for a group lineup. Funny how that's considered bashing.

Give it a rest, you're just an agitator. I don't come here to argue.

I don't come in here to read a trade book. That is what my comment is about. Its flying over your head why I called you out in the first place. Nothing to do with your opinion of the figure. I'm done discussing with you. After several exchanges you still are not realizing why I commented in the first place. That's dense friend.

Just got my waitlist converted! I actually had this exclusive POed since day one and I missed a payment and did not know about it. So it was cancelled and I had to start from scratch. I really really wanted that exclusive arc reactor so I'm very happy now haha.

Ahem.....:lol

It is a definite upgrade over all prior Mark II/Mark III releases. It does have negatives that are well covered in the last week as we have seen.

There are four core camps I think this figure is going to fall to and be a pro or con. I personally think it is a good upgrade and it is #2 for me outlined below. I do think it is way to red and the articulation I feel is due to all of the other figures they are wanting to start pressing out. Concessions appear to have been made to get this guy out and we are now left to deal with if it is worth adding to the collection.

Opinions are mostly originating from collectors who got or want this because they:

1) Never had a three before - Pro
2) Had old three version wanted a new for a hall of armor replacement - Pro
3) Want a definitive iron man - Con (Height, articulation at waist and ankles are bad and for reasons discussed)
4) Want a Iron man and is a museum poser - Con - But only if displayed with other figures that will really accentuate the height issue due to upright poses

Thanks :duff

Alright then. Got some sleep, slammin' some coffee this morning and having another look....here's a couple quick shots...

....and while I'm still not quite ready to gush endlessly over this figure yet, after taking a closer look, putting the batteries in, getting it into a pose or two and in front of a camera (weird I know, but my favorite way to enjoy and appreciate these figures), I'm starting to see a good, solid IM here.

It is cool that HT incorporated as many of the features as they could in this version (the various flaps, attachments, etc). It will make for some great display and photo-op moments. While the ankles and waist do have less versatility than some of the other versions, I can see now that it will be possible to get this figure into a "final" display pose that I'll like without it looking straight-up static.

I do appreciate the easy on/off feature of the mask to get to the light switch...all of the switches have better access this time around.
The finish on it is really good, even the plastic bits manage to match what die-cast there is pretty well. The only parts that lean a little bit cheap looking (especially in photos) are the shoulder pads...they do match, but...

Really minor nits...I wish the "arc reactor " display didn't have the "Iron Man" logo on it. It would look better on a plain, black display. Not a big deal. And it would've been cool to have a unique enviro-style display stand other than (or in addition to) these standard (but kinda boring now) round ones. A rubble-strewn one where the figure could be a bit "action-posed" with flaps and missiles deployed would have been great...

I am starting to enjoy and appreciate this one now....gonna try the 3-Point landing pose next....

Glad it converted an armor all iron man collectors should have

This is just so nice.

Out of pure curiosity, what is your number one and two Favorite IM armours if this is your third favorite?

I know I won't be bothered too much by the figures downsides. Love this armor and I'll get him in a nice display pose.

For me, probably the Mark 42 or 43.

Opened Mark III, and I love it. I cant get the plastic off the foil part of the back flaps.

Carefully use an X-Acto knife if you have to and split the plastic tape where it folds, then carefully pull it apart. It is really hard getting fingernails in there to pull the tape apart. I think tweezers or even a paperclip bent out into a wire could work. I didn't try it, but that little clear plastic piece they include might work as well.

For me, probably the Mark 42 or 43.

The 42s design really did grow on me overtime. I was really against the predominantly gold colour at first, but enjoy it now. I didn't buy it because I was holding out for the 43, which I currently have POed in the 1/4 scale. I think it will be an amazing figure.

Well, my congratulations to those that are able to get this figure in the three-point landing pose. After attempting for an hour, I'm calling "uncle". I can't do it, and I don't want to break anything by forcing it. I know there are a few shots here and there where people succeeded and I was hoping to for a display pose but..oh well.

Back to ramrod straight, boring basic pose for this one. My 42 is looking better by the second....

As far as articulation goes, it looks like the XLII can't be beat. Except by maybe the XLIII. :lol I hope this bodes well for the XLV.

I think this is about as close as i can get. I wish i could just take that cover off the left waist, it looks out of place. The way i have it displayed on the shelf it's not as noticeable.
