It happens mainly becuase it's all subjective. Despite the way it's often presented, the color used on the new one matches the colors Stan Winston, and then Legacy, used(and still uses) to paint the practical suit. The dark red promo stuff was early art that was later changed. The stunt suit was darker. 3/10 CGI models where darker. But the hero suit, the construction suit, and the later hall of armor suits have varied shades of lighter red. The fact the movie was shot with a lot of low light and soft light also makes the suits appear darker. But there is no "right" suit. And the color it's painted now is the color Marvel wanted it painted. If the creators wanted it that color how is it "wrong"?

You can see parts of the suit at Disney from time to time. A few traveling shows. I've got a few parts somewhere, and pics too. There's a video of RDJ I posted a few weeks back that shows him getting it put on. It's clearly lighter.

And funny enough if you go back and look at all the complaints about the two previous versions of the suit hot toys did(outside of pink panties) the two largest requested changes on an updated figure (some coming from these same people saying its to light and to thick) was that the original was to skinny and to dark. It's funny that people get exactly what they want, and then it's hot toys that's wrong. Lol

Sorry but I disagree.
Here are some captures of the "making of" featuring the practical suit.
Color is more maroon than candy red.
The color HT used is beautiful and very well applied, but not accurate.
So i´m not criticizing the beauty of the result. Just the accuracy.
Again, not bad intention in my crits. I like the figure, but would liked it much more with that tweaks.
I would liked to have a "perfect" mark 3 in my collection. Just it.
One more thing to comment is how HT really catched the rubber torso and panties part fading in the original figure compared to the practical suit captures. The should had recovered it for the diecast one :)

And regarding the requests and complaints of the old versions, why they changed the helmet top "square" shape for example?

you can improve the foot articulation by cutting out the highlighted part!
someone have done it successfully and they said its not difficult.
its a pitty HT didnt do it, or they miss this out on purpose?

Very interesting :) Where you got the picture? Is there any guide or tutorial?

Not all gonna be bad crits :)
If you want to totally cover the shoulder gaps, you can do it. Anyway you can almost cover them with the shoulder pads.
Just fill the space inside with some thin foam rubber.
I used the one that comes under the back air brakes, cutting it to fit and carefully inserted with a tooth pic. Not difficult and IMO, it looks very good and leaves totally practicable shoulder articulation. Hope you like it.

i feel like maybe it is lighter to match the color of the cartoons. marvels call. on any toys, you never see maroon they are all red.

there is no way HT would be able to do something without direct input from Marvel or who ever the powers be.

They went darker red in the early figures to match the suits on screen that where darker. Showing one set of parts being painted does nothing to change what I said. I said there where lots of different shades of red used. Add that to early pulls of the suit where done in black material, which made the suit look even darker. That was changed after a bit becuase it read as to dark. So later pulls where grey with a little lighter shade of red used. They also changed the digital files color. There where a lot of test paints and alternate suits and changes. Yes, the mk3 was darker then mk4. But some if the mk4 suit was done dark too.

Hot rod red. That's what the suit should be. Not deep dark red. It should be very close to the red used in the marvel logo. Parts of the mk3 where, and some where not. It should have been painted over a light metal finish. But the early suit was made from a black fiberglass. Which made the suit darker then Marvel wanted. It was changed. But some of the footage had been done by that point. You can see a lot of varied shades of red in the film and on the props.

Hot toys did the darker red twice. And every feedback on the color from collectors was that it was to dark. Now they lighten the color to match some of the other shades, and the designers intended look, with marvels backing, and it's to light. People man.

you're the only fool here. all you do is troll around and inspect and correct everyones posts. youve never been anything towards me other than disrespectful with your animated gifs. please do me a favor and block me or altogether avoid me. I'm asking you kindly to leave me and my thoughts alone.
:clap

Could you show me one capture of the film, making of or other knd of reference with mk3 painted with a lighter red? I'm really curious to see it, sincerely.

Let me dig through my photos. Here's the suit actually used on screen. The hero suit. Not some random suit painted in some bts vid. As I said, it's MUCH lighter then the promo art shot.

And if you look next to it. The mk42 suit. And the red is nearly identical. I'm sure there will be some person to post some dark version now. Which is not the point. If there are so many variations on screen then hot toys can use any one of them, and it's "right".

Great looking pics...I got mine on Friday and I'm still trying to get the metal flaps out of their wrapping on the back of the armor. :lol

Best way, IMO, is to cut the plastic with a sharp cutter all over the metal flaps contour. Then peal the plastic from the top part, on the flaps hinge with tweezers.

Yes. Is lighter than the all the pics I have seen. Thanks for the pictures buddy. But not as light or vibrant red as the figure one. Also mk42 or mk43 ht figures red is darker than mk3 (I have both), but yes, you are not lying :)
If they would painted with mk3 red I would be much happier.

I don't think the figure is any lighter then that piece...

You are welcome for the pics.
