Here is what IMO HT should have released to 100% satisfy my expectations.
I´m not too dissapointed but, as i said, there are some points that could be different to match better mark 3 armour.
Here is a comparision i quickly tweaked with PS.
I stole someone pic fot it :)
Dont know is i can upload animated gifs. I´m sharing an static one too just in case.

Oh wow that's perfect :clap

After living with this armor for almost a month now, it is still among my favorites. Like others, I would have preferred some additional articulation, but I also understand that is not the point of this release. Having never owned an original Mark III, I'm glad I waited for this die-cast release, as it is superior to the originals in terms of proportions. I like it so much that I am considering buying the stealth version because it is worth having a second time, although I would prefer a Mark II variant, which I know we will probably get.

Maybe Hot Toys will give us an accessory set like they did not long ago that includes an articulated abdominal piece for this figure. A part that allows you to at least turn the upper/lower torso. Wishful thinking, but it would certainly make this figure feel more complete.

this place is a bitter sweet place to hang out. one second you're learning valuable tips, seeing pics that inspire or give ideas, help make purchase decisions...the list is endless.

then the next second, the villagers grab the pitchforks and torches, and make you not like something you liked 5 minutes ago.

ignorance is bliss.

a few pages back, people are raving about this figure. now, its an abomination. its a *******. its forever thrust into, meh....its IM but its not a MKIII. its a failed attempt.

now every time i walk by my shelf, i stare at that GD chest and candy apple red paint.

you mother ****ers. :gah:

can someone post a side by side of the original plastic MK III next to this one? I don't think the pics above are of the original release. or are they?

i found a pic of the original release and it looked the same to me...

not saying its movie accurate. I'm wondering if HT changed anything besides the DC.

:rotfl I think most who have been here awhile have been through the same thing at one time or another.

Where is Braniac to make a meme of Ledger's Joker doing his "losing their miiiiinnnds" catchphrase, about how people will snatch up a blue 'stealth' version and say how good it looks, and how it is a must have.... yet, release the wrong shade of red, and oh boy...

:panic:

Thanks YF! In the next few weeks I hope to get my proper camera out, rather than iPhone pictures. Don't think I can keep up with some of the stuff on here, but fun to try! And I just opened my MkV that JazzInc customised so thats gonna look great...

Goes to show how relatively minor tweaks can make such a difference to the eye, nicely done!

Thanks motuxmen

I don't mind the chest as much as the color. How the hell does this happen? That's quite a difference.

It happens mainly becuase it's all subjective. Despite the way it's often presented, the color used on the new one matches the colors Stan Winston, and then Legacy, used(and still uses) to paint the practical suit. The dark red promo stuff was early art that was later changed. The stunt suit was darker. 3/10 CGI models where darker. But the hero suit, the construction suit, and the later hall of armor suits have varied shades of lighter red. The fact the movie was shot with a lot of low light and soft light also makes the suits appear darker. But there is no "right" suit. And the color it's painted now is the color Marvel wanted it painted. If the creators wanted it that color how is it "wrong"?

You can see parts of the suit at Disney from time to time. A few traveling shows. I've got a few parts somewhere, and pics too. There's a video of RDJ I posted a few weeks back that shows him getting it put on. It's clearly lighter.

And funny enough if you go back and look at all the complaints about the two previous versions of the suit hot toys did(outside of pink panties) the two largest requested changes on an updated figure (some coming from these same people saying its to light and to thick) was that the original was to skinny and to dark. It's funny that people get exactly what they want, and then it's hot toys that's wrong. Lol

Haven't gotten a figure in a while, so I was blown away by this piece, to be honest. Even with some lacking articulation, this is one of my favorite 1/6 figures by far. And it's the centerpiece of my Marvel figs now. Just wish I could cram the Hulk in my detolf. :/

you can improve the foot articulation by cutting out the highlighted part!
someone have done it successfully and they said its not difficult.
its a pitty HT didnt do it, or they miss this out on purpose?
