Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I'm with you on this one, MF (your initials are fun to use). Like I said when I posted my close-up shots, there are small dings and nicks in several places on the suit, which is to be expected in anything that's made of soft rubber such as this. My guess is maybe some people have exacerbated the issue by messing with those imperfections and, in the process, have caused the paint to peel. Not saying that's true for everyone, but it's a possibility.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Also note, this guy with the 6 times is so pissed, he's posting as a comment to every post on HT's page to go see his post of that photo, what a whiney brat.

Oh - yeah - I only posted twice just to see if they would resolve the issue before I get mine in January - I'm not the guy that has had to return his 6 times; I haven't even gotten mine yet! I'm just hoping that when I do - it won't have the defects that are currently present. Plus, I don't think anyone who has had to deal with this 6 times is being "whiney" I would say they are just wanting what they paid for: a quality product without such patent defects.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Whoever Terrance Tam is, when their post is at the top of the page, to add it to every comment relative to Batman on HT's page to me is overkill and speeks to mindset, they might be thinking because of how FB comments work, that's a way to let those folks know the post was added, but surely if those people care enough they're watching HT's FB page closely and it's unnecessary. TT is spreading panic like the U.S. news, it's crazy.

Again, I'm not fluffing it off like "oh there's nothing to fear" but I think how serious this matter is could be far different from how it's being reported, that's the flaw of the internet, anyone wanting to ????? will ????? just to do so.

I think the thing to walk away from this is, when you get your DX Batman, look it over for problems, keep an eye on it the first day or two for any breakdown, and other than that, just be excited it's shipping soon.

that wouldn't bother me personally but if the paint starts coming off thats something that would. Man.. for $200.00 it seems crazy we should even have to worry about things like this.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

looking over the pics, the head thing is definitely due to taking it out of the mold too early. Chances are, the paint flecking is due to it not being completely dry before they pack it up. I think that's why so many of us Joker DX owners got nameplates that fell off, the glue just plain wasn't dry before they put it in the box. I think maybe Hot Toys let all the OMG I CAN"T WAIT TO GET THIS FIGURE comments get to them and rushed this first batch out the door. I have no doubt they'd get it sorted out and everyone will be happy, you have to figure, the problem has really only been brought to light over the last day or so and over a holiday week to boot. They can't fix it overnight, no matter how bad everyone wants to have a prefect figure sitting on their shelf the second they find a problem. At the very least, at least they are addressing the issue, unlike some major collectible manufacturers

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I can read a bit of chinese. And it seems most of the HK folks post at toy hunters more than at HT's page.

I think terence tam is doing a pretty good job, just trying to help people in HK and outside to be aware of whats goin on, like you said MF, US news:lol

Hes suggesting that HT should just acknowledge their mistake, and recall all the existing DX and give us a problem free batman DX; like what HT did with connor a while ago:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

That is a good recommendation. I would imagine if it were just the heads, HT'd jump all over it, they're probably trying like hell to avoid a big recall on full figures because there's no way to resolve suit issues but that, you can't take the suit off without risking damage to the base body or suit, so it's not an option to just ship out new suits.

Yeah I agree with you - I think he's trying to help but he doesn't know that it is coming off as being irritating and annoying. I definitely hope that by the time my distributor gets his shipment in Beijing from HT that the defects will all be removed and the product will be in pristine condition. I feel for everyone out there who has shelled out $200 for one of these figures and has experienced problems; hopefully, HT will honor all complaints and remedy their mistakes.

I like this reasoning - it makes perfect sense for all of the related "defects" from the figures people are getting; HT employees rushing the assembly of the figures way too quickly and resulting in defects to the figures which now must be replaced. As the saying goes "Haste makes waste."

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I think hes doing whatever it is hes doing because he, like many other HKers are pissed off because HT is still claiming that theres no problem and people are getting a perfect replacement.

Thats why he emphasizes that the figure was replaced on the 30th, and its still flawed. He just wants HT to man up, and deliver high quality product like always. I guess the HKers want HT to be something they are proud of, and rightfully so:eek:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Is that the sole'defect' that caused the HK customer to return his DX Batman so many times? Or are there more?

i think some on various different parts, but thats his recent one, or should I say his 'sixth' DX bats that he got so far.

I get that, but I also question how flawed that 30th image is. Are there marks, yes, but it doesn't look like rot or decay of paint or anything, just looks like small marks and only one that might even really be noticable at actual size. To me, complaining about those marks seems equal to complain if your Joker has the "tears" painted heavier than someone elses. I find a difference between issues that are huge, like painfully misshapen heads, or defects that mean a break down of the product and integrity issues, like flaking paint, and things like what are showing in those Dec. 30th photos, those things look to me like small production flaws, and I don't believe in getting a figure or any collectible that doesn't have something, paint slop or other small, subtle things. I wouldn't have said a thing about my Batman if it had those little marks on the back, as long as my head doesn't look horribly misshapen or my armor suit looks like it's falling apart in my hands, I'm fine with it, I think asking for completely flawless is asking for too much as no companie's ever demonstrated 100% flawless product.

Great take there, Station.

HT should have called the defective DX02s O2 BD Exclusives and all these guys would be running back to the store to get theirs back. :lol

I hope to have mine in hand in about 2 hours....we'll see what's up.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

So, from the HT physical store DK batman is about $148US? Not bad.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Just got mine in - absolutely love it. Sure the Sonar head is like the others in this thread (and I'm about to email HT CS about that), but the other cowl is superb. Some small scratches and dings around the suit but nothing that hasn't been seen with my other HT figures. No peeling or chipping yet.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

where did you get it from irmoballen? and how bad is the sonar head? any pics?

Just a quick iPhone pic. Will try to take better ones/think of better poses later. As far as the sonar head goes, it's exactly like the various pictures already posted. Not that big a deal for me though, as I think I'm going to keep him in the pose with the sonar head looking up and holding the sticky gun.

Quick edit: got it from eBay (hk_apestore).
