just noticed something thats very unusual on my bats costume.

For those of you who have gotten their DX already, you know that the abs armor came with some sort of lubricant applied right?

so I wiped them clean, like a week ago. And it looks dried up.

But today, when I was looking at him, I noticed that its wet again, and when I open up the belt, theres lubricant again

I cleaned it again, and theres no paint chipping or anything of that sort, but it just puzzles me.

anyone experienced the same thing?

Man.. I have the same problem dude!! this is very annoying and disturbing

The lubricant problem is centralized on the belt area (belt, and abdominal)..I removed the belt, cleaned and dried completely the area....but a few days later, have the same problem again!!

The first time I removed the belt for cleaning I found some lubricant drops or something wet on the belts back ,but did not know where they came from...

I thought I was the only one with this problem..

The lubricant is applied on the belt to ensure that it doesn't stick to the suit. Some ppl leave their Bats in the box and the the lubricant is applied to ensure that the belt doesn't melt into the suit or vice versa.

but seriously now, maybe that's the problem. hot toys didn't take their time to dry the rubber after the molding and production. so there is still humidity in the rubber, and when it wants to evaporate, the paint goes off and the rubber begins to peel...

The belt came wrapped in plastic mate.

So your theory doesn't really add up, IMO

The lubricant is applied on the belt to ensure that it doesn't stick to the suit. Some ppl leave their Bats in the box and the the lubricant is applied to ensure that the belt doesn't melt into the suit or vice versa.

Yes could it be...

The lubricant dissolve the paint and and loses consistency..I know because when I tried to dry and clean the lubricant from the abbdominal area, the paint started to dissolve ??? and came off .

Fortunately I have some matt or opaque acrilyc paints and mixing black with a little of white (dark grey) I Have solved my problem because it looks like the original paint

However, I scratched and rubbed the paint in: legs, back, arms, torso and the paint seems pretty consistent and lasting (I was thinking on contact with Hottoys CS for replacement..but perhaps will not)

All the figures have this problem till they shipp the REAL second batch that has not arrived yet.

No such thing on mine.

I just dab the wet area gently, and it still looks immaculate.

I thought I was the only one, mine also has humidity or lubricant near the belt and between his legs. I might ask HT what is it.

I am getting my dx batman in May when the U.S. one comes out. Hopefully everything is corrected! Cant have a dx joker without a dx batman!

I'm also glad I waited. If it needs to wait till March then I can as well. Anyway, I've got the V1 so it's not like I'm desperate for a TDK Batman.

Well...The paint of My Batman Dx started to peel off ( I would say "dissolve") the thirtd or fourth time I cleaned the lubricant, oil or whatever, in the abbdominal area...before that,the paint was perfect.

As I told before, the paint seems consistent and lasting in those areas unexposed to the lubricant .

PS: I always cleaned the wet area gently too but..

I am getting my dx batman in May when the U.S. one comes out. Hopefully everything is corrected! Cant have a dx joker without a dx batman!

If the Hong Kong shipment is being delayed, there is a good chance the DC Direct shipment will be delayed also. So we might have to wait longer then May.

Oh boy. Is it just me, or is it starting to look like the hysterical doomsayers were right? I can understand the sonar head is a mould problem, and the paint is an issue with incorrectly mixed paint but this lubricant thing makes me nervous - it seems to call into question the integrity of the suit and reminds me of those Kenner Star Wars figures from the mid 80's that developed an oily residue due to some chemical reaction.

What's next, someone posts a photograph of a black Hot Toys narrow shouldered body standing in a pool of molten rubber?

BTW I'm really disappointed by Leo of goodshipped, advertising his figures as being from the second batch when HT hasn't even released it yet.

Perhaps my case is a simple coincidence..but The paint of the other areas: arms, legs torso seems too consistent and only the "wet" abbdominal area has been dereriorated ,
I repainted mine and I've solved the problem for now, nevertheless, As soon as other paint areas start to deteriorate I would contact HT immediately

I just checked mine & the lower abs area is also showing some sort of moisture along the edges & just above the belt. It is displayed in a Detlof in a cool, dark area.
I'm not touching it & will see what happens from this point on.

I purchased a DX Batman a few weeks ago, and although I have not had an issue with warped sonar heads or peeling paint, I have noticed some sort of moisture on the abdominal armor area just above the belt. Any idea what could be causing this? The figure is displayed in a glass case in a cool, dark area away from direct sunlight. Thanks for your response!

Well, just checked mine and he has not become incontinent yet.
