hi guys, i m new here. just droppin in to say hi and also just wanted to say that i just got my replacement DX02 back yesterday so i m gonna keep a close eye on it to see if the leakin problem is still around... fingers crossed really really tightly

Hey Liquidator,did you notice that the replacement body is different than the original one?I just got mine this weekend and noticed the body not only thicker but not as shiny as my other one that i sent to be replaced.Just curious!?

Replacements!? Are these specifically for the leaking abs situation?

I think most people receiving replacement right now were because of the oil at least, and possibly other issues too, for me it was just the oil.

If it's the latter, then are these retailers just sending out different DX Batman bodies that look okay i.e. nothing has actually been fixed by HT? If so.. then it's possible these replacement bodies could leak as well. Right?

For a few of us, it's Toys2 getting new bodies supplied by HT on our behalf, I think a couple people posted getting them direct from HT, it's a Hot Toys issued replacement and according to a few reports, the part of the shirt that has been leaking is now made out of a plastic like material instead of dense rubber like the leaking ones.

mine was directly from HT but it was all arranged by the local distributor here

This whole section of the shirt.

For some reason, and my guess is to have the detailed kevlar bits, the red outlined section of the shirt was made of a denser, rubber feeling material compared to the softer material of the rest of the shirt and the pants. Odds are, something about this material is the reason the leaking is confined to that location, and it seems like HT has now tried making this part out of a whole new material.

Ah.. ok. Thanks MaulFan. So the "kevlar" seen in that section is a different material than the rest throughout the suit?

All the armor in that section is a different material. The kevlar difference is that dotted pattern in it, the only rubber parts of the suit with the dots are the bicep plates and the stomach, the kevlar sections on the side of the shirt and the legs are just painted a grey color.

Back when the proto debuted, a lot of people were vocal about the kevlar, the pattern, lack of it showing on the sides, I guess HT decided to try a different material for at least the front of the shirt that would let them detail the kevlar like his pectoral armor, unfortunately for those of us who bought the figure to date, the material they went with appears to have failed miserably.

I got mine directly from Hot Toys.Sent them an email with PICS of my Batman and copy of receipt.

Well hell.. good news then. I must be out of the loop.. cuz last I heard HT was ignoring the whole leaky abs issue.

They're being shady about it. They haven't publicly acknowledged it like they did the warping and paint flaking, they haven't been to eager about offering replacements to people, and they've been implementing new policies about returns throughout the time period this figure's been availabile. I think pretty much every figure that's been shipped to date has suffered this problem to some extent and they're trying hard to avoid a mass replacement.
