Hmmm, I've thought about it for a while, and though I've been pushing for HT to include light-up sonar eyes for DX Batman I don't see myself using it at all. It's the same case with the Iron Man figures; I hate how quickly the batteries drain when using the lights.

It's a nice feature included if it doesn't drive the price up much, like the Predator having it in the bio mask, but outside of folks like me who make images with the figures, I don't see the big wow of lights, 80-90% of the time folks own the figures the lights are going to be off.

I'll enjoy the Sonar on Batman so long as the tech doesn't compromise the quality/look of the figure when it's not in use and the regular head looks fine. I'm just glad there is two heads, if it was sonar only and the original figure head didn't work with this new figure, I'd probably pass.

I wonder if they'll engineer the sonar eyes head in a similar manner to which they did the Iron Man heads - bright LED filters light through the neck post and through a hollow head.

Think I will buy a spare sonar head and paint the lenses to look lit.

What if someone made a custom angry open mouth joker?get him a crowbar to hold,and that could lead to some pretty good display scenes between DX Joker and DX Batman(Final fight scene in the Prewitt building).

There are a lot of creative and talented people on this board. I wouldn't be surprised at the sheer amount of awesome stuff (photos, custom dioramas, custom re-sculpts, re-paints, etc) that will be generated from using the DX TDK figures as a base for creative expression. Personally, there was a really neat alley way custom dio made by someone (forgot the name) that I'd like to see with the DX figures taking place of the previous ones.

It's going to be exciting, Although the 6-7 month gap between the DX Joker and DX Batman is a bit of a dampener.

Very much so, especially when at the moment, maybe SDCC will change that, there's nothing really exciting coming for me on the horizon in that window either to pass the time.

Agreed. I don't know if I've forgotten some figures, but doesn't it seem like HT's late-Q3 and Q4 release lineup this year seem a bit light?

After the big wave of product hitting in August, there doesn't seem to be much else afterward. The clothed T-600 hits in October, Silk Spectre too, and Wolverine hitting sometime late in the year...and that's about it (in terms of high profile releases).

With the amount of time growing sporadically longer from prototype to in-hand, it just feels like it's going to be an empty latter half of this year. But, I guess delays can change that.

That was my diorama

I'm actually going to be using it for my DX Joker.

But I'll hopefully be making a diorama for the DX Batman

I'm actually thinking of doing the bit in hongkong, before he jumps off after using the sticky gun.

I'm also having creeping feelings of doing another Joker one where he has an RPG. Can you guess what it would be?

we still have to receive both figures and we have no idea how both will look in hands.

If you had to make a "judgement" I would say they both have what it takes to float our boat equally

It would probably sacrifice head movement, but I wonder if Hot Toys have tried or considered making the neck more acurate as in this picture.

Hopefully it is not to dark. I had to alter levels to try and colour match new neck to head.

That's one of the major flaws for me, the neck is totally wrong, needs to be much thicker and generally be flush with the base of the cowl. I guess it would limit articulation unless they developed a flexible rubber neck. That probably means a lot of investment which is uneconomical for them..

It would probably sacrifice head movement, but I wonder if Hot Toys have tried or considered making the neck more acurate as in this picture.

Hopefully it is not to dark. I had to alter levels to try and colour match new neck to head.

Doing the neck with a rubber covering like the suit would be a good idea.
