Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Nice neck mod. Is there a way to achieve this without cutting the ball joint?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

those clips just suck lol.

I don't know, my went in with not too much fuss and the cape looks flush on his shoulders.

Is the problem the actual material used for the cape or the clip?

I do think it's fun experimenting with different cloth materials to make different kinds of capes though.

After the effort, comfort... Some pictures ! :wink1:
I realy need a better camera.
Like I'll definitely make a more accurate cape, I think I'll fix that belt too (a bit sloppy for my taste :pfft:).

Some nice poses there!

Did you have to tighten the elbows or did they come like that?

And what do you mean by 'sloppy belt'?

comparison between standard DX neck, and DX neck after cutting out the ball in the neckpost, sorry Maglor for stealing your pic for reference lol.

standard DX neck:

modded DX neck:

I do have to admit. That looks A LOT better. But, don't like the damage required. I would rather do the V1 neck mod and still have a mint DX02.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

it can probably, but it was very lose when I tried it with Iforignos cape :)

They aren't loose if they are pushed in far enough.

hah! Thanks bro, Iforignos capes are just such a soft fabric I didn't want to damage them shuffing them in :)

You won't damage them if you don't push them in with something too sharp. If they get wrinkly, you can just steam or iron them.

The glue thing has damaged it though...

Your finished product does look nice though (assuming the "V" isn't down to his waist) and that's all that matters. :peace

Man, I really haven't been paying too much attention to the neck conversations but I just posed his head like in Maglor's pic and when you see it with your own eyes on your own figure :horror

I showed my wife who's not into this ____, she asked what's up with his neck :lol

Heh, so true. The only way to make the neck look natural from the front is too bow the head way forward, which makes it look crazy long from the back.

I can't wait for the moded neck.

I agree with you, I much rather have a modded neck minus the permanent damage :horror

Did you make your own neck mod or did you purchase one already made?

If you're asking me, I am waiting on a member here who claims he will sell me a V1 neck, after he sells some related stuff. :panic::impatient:

True, but I'm not a sucker for mint perse, as long as it makes it look better I'm fine with it. :) but I can totally understand some wouldn't want to do it :)

Cool pics buddy - don't worry, i DID notice them :)

Would be cool if you could post them within your posts though, just upload the pics to a site like www.tinypic.com and use their code for posting in forums.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

TBH I still prefer the v1 neck mod, cutting the ball joint is a cool solution but I tend to agree that it's on the too short side.

But as long as you yourself are happy its cool.

I'll still be on the lookout for a v1 neck though.

Thank you for the appreciation! :hi5:
It is true that the joints are a little loose... One should take their time and remain calm in order to achieve to keep certain poses! :peace

About sloppy belt:
Sorry if this is not the appropriate term (my knowledge of English starts to rust now! :lol)
As I already mentioned it in a previous post, Hot Toys is capable of the best but also the worst sometimes. If the batsuit is beautifully made, it can not be said of the sculpture of the belt: Errors (rows of magnets were carved intaglio, whereas usually those are blades that come over, and paint is inappropriate) and the sculpting work on the links of the belt is rough. :horror
Apologies for the poor quality images, my camera has its limits... :monkey2

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

imho looks too short now

You have to consider that his actual shoulders rest lower then the shoulder armor suggests with all his layers, so the too short look is actually accurate ;)

it's what hot toys also does wrong with their iron man figures.. :(

But if I ever feel like its too short it would be an easy fix to make it a little longer, which I wont, because this looks pretty good to me :)

As I wrote in a previous post, I had to cut the stem of the ball 6 mm. But on my side, I reattached (glued) the ball on the stem.
