Yes totally agree with you on this. Of course I Love Hottoys but it's just inexcusable when it is their SECOND attempt + they have the medicom figure AND TONS OF PICS FROM THIS FORUM (heck they don't even need to do their own research) for this figure.


That's wht kinda make me wonder they have NO EXCUSE to not make changes

Reguardless of what HT's CEO said, I still think (hope) HT will continue to improve the suit untill its ready for release (especially if we make enough noise). It seems they're continuing to make little tweaks on the DX Joker and he's supposed to be out next month.

That's the thing. I was looking at my TDK figure yesterday, and from views like the official HT pics, some of the shapes look the same, but yet in the new DX pics, the head proportion to everything is much improved, so while the DX follows similar body shapes, I think the overall proportion is much improved, but only having photos of the figure by itself, we have no context to tell just what size truly this figure is. If there were shots of him standing beside BR Joker or Two-Face or any figure we have in hand to compare to, I think we'd find DX more improved than it may seem, it's not perfect and some minor adjustments could take it even further, but I think it's better than we might think when seeing it alone.

Extremely well put...you and devil make a good point about that.

And those shots devil posted, he looks great

GEEEZ.. as I have stated long ago. Having a long cape is essential for a modern batman... if u want a shorter cape.. go like superman .....


Functionality? it doesn't affect the functionality at all unless it's too BIG instead of LONG. yes some promo pics have the shorter cape but remember the promo pic where he was on top of the cop car.. THAT SCENE WAS NOT EVEN IN THE GODDAMNED MOVIE!! If you watch the movie again, and if you watch promo shots... most of the time he'd have a longer cape... which flows much better and u know what... batman should have a cape that could "cloak"/cover himself. and the new suit allows him to put the cape behind or to cover his body if needed to....


So.. the longer cape is the way to go buddy... not a shorter cape =.=. .. we DONT want a 60's batman

I know you don't realize how ridiculous you sound ranting like that but he had the long cape on with this suit like one time in the entire film. Every fight, every bat pod ride, every silouhette shot was the short cape that was made for this suit.

short cape as well for me too but needs to be more accurate. If the V1 TDK cape was thinner and fell better with a V cut in the back of the neck and maybe just a tad longer it would have been perfect.

But the cape on the prototype is too long for TDK version

2 capes is nice to make everybody happy, but if there has to be 1 cape I prefer the short version too for this batman.

The long cape suited perfect voor the OC, the new suit looks better with a short cape imo, although it had the long cape in the promoshots and in SOME shots of the movie; in most shots it had the short cape on..

I was going by these. I know they used more than one cape size (short for the fighting), but this one sticks with me more.

And this isn't a promo shot! this is a still from the movie that didn't get in the movie itself.
(unfortunately there is only 1 deleted scene on the discs)
And if you watched one of the many trailers carefully, they even showed this particular scene where you saw batman jump over the cars from the MCU to save Rachel...and you see clear that he has a short cape!

so, this is no promoshot.

Look if you guys want a short cape buy the V1, you have your cape already. But for us who wanted a longer cape, finally we have a solution.

The short cape on V1 was terrible, the way it rolled inward and curved behind his back, It looked like a god damn towel around his neck It put me off buying the figure entirely. It seemed like it was torn or damaged. I just didn't like the silhouette it gave him. With DX Hot Toys listened to the fans and corrected a problem

The lenght of the cape on those pics from Eddie is just perfect. Please don't change it!

If you want a shorter cape, just cut it shorter, when you have your fig

End of the day it's actually not going to make much difference to me, because i'll be getting a custom buddy lee cape for this guy as well, those capes are just INCREDIBLE. Look 100% movie accurate, and the cloth looks and feels high quality.

what kind of advise is that? buy a V1 if you want a short caped batman

correction: if you want a short cape, you can still buy the DX and buy a buddy lee cape here on the board for a small price.
Than you have 2 capes!

indeed! I've seen them on some Medi's and on some V1's and they are the best looking capes I've seen next to the Takara's.

Long cape doesn't mean OC size big, which even then wasn't THAT big, the V1 begins was HUGE, and i ended up making a cape that size for my OC since he used a big cape with that suit.

The TDK suit is fine with a floor length slim cape, not massively huge, but one that reaches the floor either with the tips, or rests on it just barley is perfect. Anything shorter starts to look wierd.

You can reference till your blue in the face the amount of times he had a short cape, and explain he had it for obvious reasons, batpod/fights but thats it, it was designed more for USE than look. It's like saying the figure should have the baggy style pants they gave him for crouching scenes, because it was technically in the movie, lets ignore the fact it was in the movie for use rather than look, because we want it since it was in the movie.

Don't know what i'm talkin about check the pics of bale in the suit standing for the gordon's apartment shot, its a behind the scenes shot of him when he's about to do the crouched pose, and they gave him a loose set of pants on his suit so he could crouch and they'd tighten approprietly and not annoy him.

That's the thing, he used two capes in the movie, but it was more for use than what we are supposed to see, same in begins, he had a massive cape in shots where they wanted to emphasize the cape, and sometimes he had a short one, when it wasn't easy to work with a big cape, same for this film. When he had to fight or ride the batpod they went with a short cape for ease with production, not for the way they wanted batman to look, its why you don't get big wide panned shots of him fighting, its usually close up.

Any big wide shots that show him full body, show him with a full length cape, and that's accurate.

I'm not really fussed about the cape size, tbh. As long as it looks nice on the figure! And isn't as big as the Begins original figure's cape LOL

I'd say the cape we have seen on the DX in the photos is pretty damn sweet.

for me that is a 'short cape' and would be perfect
I some of you call that a long cape, than I would be happy with that kind of 'long cape'

Anything longer than that isn't nice for me, imo
Anything shorter is indeed weird (like a superman cape or like a zorro cape )

ps: a Keaton length cape is perfect (the one with Bale on the car for example)
