Couldn't agree more. I know there are poeple that don't like the Medi Bats but it was really accurate to the film. HT Bats is just missing that...something - I can't place it. Yes HT products are higher quality but Medi wins on accuracy with regards to the Dark Knight suit.

Exactly.. which is a shame for HT .. cos they could definitely nail it ..... and it's frustrating that they can't for the moment... with all the figures already out for a while. .sigh ..

Well the good thing is that no-one is forcing anyone to buy anything from any vendor. I personally am still amazed by how true to life these are (whats the official term since I am still a noob, figures, doll...). Yes they may not be 100% accurate but I think what counts is you get the "you look at it and you just can't stop drooling" feeling and consequently the hand over $$ movement. Well at least that's how I started not too long ago and I am still bleeding $$ almost to a point where I am avoiding Toys2 now

I'm not one who thinks the medicom looks more accurate. It's got a lot more inaccuracies not only in proportion but also in the details.

Yes, BUT, the Medi body proportions / armour are MUCH MUCH more film accurate.

If one could merge the Medi body with the DX head, you would get something quite close to accurate

I think the Medi figure overall looks crappy, better proportions yes, but the finish and quality don't look as nice. I think HT has the sharper looking figure and Medicom has the more accurrate proportioned, which is why I said you can do this and that but somehow on any figure, I think something has to give, quality or accurracy for the other. It's just how figures are, there has never been a figure that is 100% dead accurrate 1/6 representation of the source, there's levels of close, but no figure's ever been dead on, it can't be done because you're working 1/6 the size of the original stuff.

The chest on the Medi is what throws it off the most to me. It's very round and protrudes a lot from the abdominal area. More so than even the original HT. The original HT had a thicker torso in profile in general but the chest was more proportional to the rest of the torso.

To me, the only thing I see that was better with the Medicom figure vs. the v.1 Batman is it was slimmer. That's it. That's the big selling point. Now with the DX, we'll have to wait to see side by side pics but if it's as slim as the Medicom figure you'll see people proclaim it better (if they already haven't). The Medicom figure needs A LOT of modification to look decent and even then it's still off. I've yet to see any figure accurately depict the TDK Batman suit.

Couldn't agree more but you have to admit it does have a lot of potential hidden away and it sure isn't a 5 minute job. Granted nobody should have to do this to get a nearly accurate looking figure. Even yet with all the modifications it ends up looking like a new figure even though the shape is still the same. Then technically it is no longer a Medicom figure?... even though the base body/suit remains the same.

I've yet to see any figure accurately depict the TDK Batman suit.

So true. Hopefully next year.

Yeah that's where customizing/modification gets tricky imo. Notice how people will post pics of your figure or Rismo's or Tinn's to show off how good the Medicom figure is? But you guys have changed the figure so much it can't really be called 100% Medicom's anymore imo because THEIR figure, out of the box looks nothing like the figures you guys currently have. So at what point does a company stop getting full credit for a figure when it's more so the owner making it great and not so much the original company that produced it!?

Plus, we're comparing how this DX figure looks, you can't compare a customized piece to factory.

You have to judge factory v1, Medicom and DX as far as manufacturer efforst. Almost any figure can look great and accurrate with customization, the key is, who gives you the best effort straight out of the box for your money.

I got my Medi bats, made no mods, and love it. I also have the DX on preorder. I like my Medi more than my HT TDK, but I have a feeling I will like the DX more than my Medi. We shall see.

Other than realism, I'd agree Medicom's looks better than the original HT. With the v1 in hand and the film to anaylyze, it's really off target in proportions.

I agree. It was a good effort by Hot Toys but the proportions were really off. I loved the figure until I saw the Medi and realized how off the HT original was. HT will always have Medi beat in the quality department, but going by only looks, they missed the mark. I can't wait to see how the DX turns out.

That's why I was talking about quality vs proportions before and how I think with any figure, and especially this one, you can't perfect both so you have to try the best of the two. Medi has proportions but the quality looks lacking. Hopefully this DX is a nice mix of HT quality and more proper proportions.

Did your Medi suffer the left shoulder problem? his right shoulder plate. It's loose and came away from the arm where the triangular part is. As if it's floating in air.

v1 I feel looks better with the Bruce head and no cape. I'll display it like that when the DX is here. So many variations for display is nicer than changing 1 figure everytime you want to look at it.

Do we think that the heads (normal and sonar head) will fit on the HT Dark Knight v1 suit?

If so, I think I'll keep mine, so that I can display him both with and without the sonar head...

Normally, I'd say yes, but for some reason, the HT Iron Man figures use a slightly larger ball joint for the heads and if they use this same method to do the Sonar eyes and the same ball joint, the heads may not fit well on the first figure.

Didn't notice a problem with shoulder. And yes, Bruce head with the long neckpost and no cape is the best way to pose the TDK orig. Looks great!

I find the Bruce head on the TDK figure looks too small, it's a smaller head than most 1/6 anyway and the extra bulk of the TDK figure, looks a little silly, but if people can enjoy it, go for it.
