Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm still debating if I want to open mine and have a look.

I'm sorry....why do you collect these? MISB is worth more of course...but if I was going to buy something to just look at the box...I think I'd spend my money on something else entirely.

I agree. But I think Woffy is joking. :wave

Sorry for the bad pic. Had to use my iPhone. Didn't use a flash, but the glare is from the new LED lighting I have put in my Detolfs.
Changed my pose from the landing pose to more of a traditional stance pose without the stand. Just wanted to share.

I am working on a 1/6th version of Kevin Smith's almost Superman film "Superman Lives." If you remember he wanted to cast Nicolas Cage as Supes.

I used a Ghost Rider Cage sculpt, a HT Superman costume, and a Truetype. It is coming out OK so far. I need a muscle body. I am anxiously awaiting my Truetype Muscle body from Sideshow!

There is a lot of visible mechanics on the neck, so posing options are limited. He looks a bit silly when you can see the whole neck. Also, I have no boots.

Anyway, here is what I got so far....please be gentle, I know I am not good at making customs.

That is hilarious!!

Not because it's a bad custom, but because it's Cage as Superman.

Oh man are we lucky that this never happened.

Here's how the belt looks once it is unattached. Also, my attempt at my evil Superman.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Is the buckle glued in or snaps in?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

It won't snap in, it has to be glued to stay there. I'll just use elmer's glue.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'd just use a small piece of two sided tape, then plug the belt buckle back in over it.

@JohnnyT - Cage's Superman was going to be radically different looking. Some costume development shots:

Someone should go mod it up

That was actually Tim Burton.

Smith never got beyond a 40-page treatment and a suggestion from Jon Peters that he cast Sean Penn as Superman because he "had the eyes of a killer". :cuckoo:

Nice use of the Mattel suit :clap,i think it fits and looks great with the hot toys boots and trunks .and i realy like the way the emblem looks more intergrated and part of the suit and less like a sticker ,the mattel suit is a nice alterative for those who dont like the "sparkle "of the hot toys suit and maybe have issues with snags and pulls ,id love to know how you darkened it up for the bad superman look

Nothing to do with it. I'm slowly getting out of collecting and I'm at a bit of an impasse where I can't fully commit to quiting. I know that if I open this up to look at it'll only make things that much harder to decide and I'll find myself justifying keeping just a few, which of course leads to buying more.

All post in response to the original were joking, except for the one above and this and the one below and perhaps any future posts but I'm still undecided.

*note to self--never buy from wofford*

Oh but you already have. Did you ever open up the jacket? I drew Morten in a Falcons uni and signed it with a booger on the inside under the right armpit.
