Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I just want to replace the cape and not the full suit, it's a little tricky yes but i'm sure with a little attention it can be done

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Aren't you forgetting something?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

:gah:
Just took mine out of the box and the left forearm is split, so the hand peg is loose. DAMN!!!

That sucks....I don't know if I'd return it or try and glue it...if everything else was perfect I'd probably try and fix it myself.

If the S was straight and there were no major snags I would definitely fix it myself. A replacement might have worse, unfixable, problems.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

the cape is too light and the material will just make it look like a table cloth when you remove the wiring and let it just hang. this might work had they used a thicker, denser material

Thicker, denser material would not be the answer. That would make it look even more like a quilt. To make it look real, it needs to be more to scale - as in, thiner material. Rayon, like lforigno's original batman capes, would look great I think.

For the record, I like the cape and have no desire to replace it. And I love that it's wired. :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Where's lforigno?! :lol

The only annoying thing would be to sew the new cape back on

I hear ya, man.
I already talked with Lance a few months ago and he thought about it.
He meant the only problem would be the yellow S on the back, but I guess now there's one more problem on the list.
:lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Sewing a new cape back on doesn't mean it will look good. HT carefully folded the cape around the collar to make it look good and more movie accurate. i am guessing that is the reason they put those buttons on, to keep that look stable. I have the mattel suit on this body and the cape does not look anywhere near as good around the neck and shoulders.

Got mine today but I can't get his arms to get closer to his side. I've seen pics with them a little closer than it comes out of the box. Any tips?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Yeah, I haven't really seen a good "fists on hips" pose yet...
I think mine came out pretty good.

Not bad but you gotta fix the squared off elbow on one arm.
well thats the trade off i'm afraid. You cant get those deep bends without using the pivots to the near max. Unless someone wanted take a dremel tool and file down the elbow links? I'm ok with the final look as it mirrors the classic pose I love. It's so close that I suspect they used these photos knowing that we would want to pose them like that. Just so pleased with this figure.

You can get those deep elbow bends, just hold the top section down firm so only the bottom part bends....you got it pretty close on the right arm.

No I'm afraid not.. I was trying every way whilst posing and discovered that up to a point the bend maxes out and you must use the other section to go any further. The right arm is almost identical but the lighting is'nt showing it.

Quick picture of how mine is displayed for now.

Yeah, you're right, I just tried it with mine again & that's exactly what happens. If you turn the biceps in it minimizes the funky elbows, but it just doesn't look right.

Wish I had some of the American flags that, mst3kpimp has in the background. They look nice 1/6 scale.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm just curious... Are the ice crystals on the stand as bad as some people make it out to be? And are there any other QC issues I should be aware of?

Contemplating buying one for Christmas, but just have to make sure its not riddled with problems like Batman/Bruce Wayne. :gah:

No. 5 - 10 seconds to heat the base up and they pop right in.

Buy it!
