Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

What type of glue you reccomend that is very strong?

super glue should be fine. just make sure you tape off the fabric so no glue can get to it. You'll probably need to pry open the split slightly so you can get some glue inside and then maybe tape it shut.

Gorilla Glue superglue...the clear one its pretty good stuff.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

How does the rest of the figure look? anything cooked? snags?.. think how crappy it'll be if your replacement looks worse that what you have now. The split forearm is an unseen blemish that can be corrected.

Has a shiny spot in the middle of the forehead and a small snagged on the left upper thigh

Also, make sure you take off the hand b4 gluing it, you wouldn't want to glue the peg in place.

Thanks for the tip. I will think it over before I attempt it. Wouldn't forcing the crack open more, cause it to split even more?

Thanks for the advice guys! I will definitely take all your advice into consideration

For real, you think that´s a good idea?!
Ripping apart the cape/figure, if you every haven´t done sucha thing?!

I agree. I believe someone did this already and it looked bad IMHO. The cape ended up having no folds. Just looked like a sheet hanging straight down with no shape to it. I would look through the thread for the photos.

Finally, THE Superman has landed in England!

Also, I seem to be lucky with mine, it does not seem to have snags, blemishes, split wrists, paint chips or any obvious defects of any kind that I can see. And I have looked pretty close.

I love this figure. It was a gift for my wife as she is CR/Superman mad! She was speechless as the "S" shield outer-box came out of the packing!

All we need now is for HT/SSC to give us George Reeves as Superman and Adam West as Batman (and of course Burt Ward as Robin...and a 1/6th scale 66Batmobile and the Joker, and Penguin, 3 Catwomen?...Sorry...I've gone off on my personal fanboi fantasy/favourite now!)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Nice custom if you're on a budget, but the logo looks like ren and stimpy font to me.
Wow.. :lol

The Mattel logo looks more the money IMO - looks like Reeve's. If there was a way to swap the logos seamlessly.. I'd consider it.

The suit on the other hand, doesn't hug the body as nicely as the upper half of the HT suit does. The thickness may give it that 'padded' look. Also, I'm taking that waist area on the Mattel suit is narrower, so it hugs the body especially tight there - & highlights the torso joint way too much..

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Actually, I'm not sure if leaving him on the stand is that great. I don't really feel too comfortable with the clamp making indentations on the body/suit fabric.
When putting him on the crystal base clamp, in a hovering pose, I wasn't super comfortable with how tightly the clamp wraps around the suit. I'm not sure if it'll damage the suit in the long run, but it sure does look cool :D

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

the cape is too light and the material will just make it look like a table cloth when you remove the wiring and let it just hang. this might work had they used a thicker, denser material

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

After having this figure for a couple of days now I have to say, whilst blown away by it overall, I am really quite disappointed with the cape.

Very thin and cheap thereby difficult to get it to hang naturally. Even the SR cape looked nicer. :(

Still an amazing piece though.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Yeah the cape is the only disappointment for me as well. If someone offers a good custom solution, I may jump on it

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Where's lforigno?! :lol

The only annoying thing would be to sew the new cape back on

Doesn't the cape clip on with buttons?, surely whoever makes a custom cape can replicate the buttons and stick the new cape on the same way.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

That is why it is tricky. :(

Wish I could afford the BobbyC one.
