Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Don't mention it.
I managed to pick up a very slightly blemished suit from a member here last week, and i have ordered a set of boots and the pants from an Ebay seller to complete the suit. I am going to put the suit on a TTM19 body.
Good luck with your mods!

I am after a set of pants and boots for my evil supes bash, looking for cheap as possible.
Bought this body for my john mc clane but looks good as superman only thing I'm wondering will the boots fit or will I need long pegs too?

I'd say the boots will fit fine. It will be totally a matter of preference whether you deicde you want longer pegs to make him taller.
Try them on normally and if he looks too short, buy yourself a set of longer pegs.
Post pics when you are done!

There have only been two totally essential Hot Toys releases over the last couple of years, IMO: T1 T-800, and this. If you don't own both, then shame on you. SHAME!

I have a custom t1 tech noir, close but no cigar:)

Never seem to have the money when they pop up.
The superman was and is essential though, childhood memories, terminator is cooler but not so iconic and eye popping imo.
He's just a grumpy hobo with a longslide:)

Great photos. This really is one of HT's best! Just everything about it oozes cool!

:goodpost: The t1 t-800 is the best hot toys ever made imo, then theres a few other must haves for me, t2 t800 was awesome to, then theres reeves superman, t600 endo, and 89 batman. There are other great hot toys but these were epic:)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

THE perfect example of how to get something so simple just so perfect.

I'd say this and Keaton bats are my two most impressive by quite a bit.

Of all my figures Superman gets the most eyeballing by miles. I've based my entire lighting around him.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Finally I can join this club, I was never much of a Superman fan (as the character), but Christopher Reeve meant Superman to me, it was just the fact that in all live action renditions of Superheroes, Christopher Reeve somehow looked like the living embodiment that made him so special..

Anyway I wasnt very happy with HT's sculpt, it seemed too much like a hybrid of an idealized Reeve and comic book Superman as drawn by John Byrne.

Used Eric Sosa's masterful sculpt which has a much better likeness to Reeve with the amazing Nathan Eakins (SilentSurfer) paint to match...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

No offence to the sculptor and painter, but I personally prefer the HT sculpt and colouring.

The HT sculpt would also be my preferance. I'm not averse to liking a custom or other company's sculpt over the HT version but in this case I think HT is better.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Sosa's version is not perfect... but HT is too Superman NOT Reeve enough for me... Honestly, the closest Reeve likeness Ive seen in a sculpt is the 1:4 version by Arnie Kim.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

As long as you're happy with it, that's what matters. Everyone see's things differently. There's Reeve in both, I just prefer HT's.

:lecture

I've combined the T2 grail Tamiya Harley Davidson with a figure using the NECA T2 head (as opposed to the HT). I have no doubt many consider that ridiculous.

Not really, I think Kyle's sculpt is actually much better than the HTT2, just let down by bad casting and paint. He has got some major features of Arnold absolutely spot on...
