My husband bought me First Chris Reeve Superman collectible when it first came out, in fact he bought me two, the special edition and the normal one. Then he surprises me with this Superman III which I was so happy about. I really love these collectibles and didn't really get into them until I met my husband. I never even knew you could get them. So I am pleased I know and I have for ages wanted a decent Chris Reeve Superman and now I have three and I am very very pleased with them.:yess:

Oh shucks, thanks wifey!

YAY - Email for Sept 4th!

Yep... Catwoman and Bane arrived this week (already on display), Hulk and a Commander Bacara arriving tomorrow, Coulson first thing next week, Star Spangled Cap on the horizon and now this Supes... Busy time.

Got my shipping notice for September 4th! Can't wait to get this--I thought the next Superman figure I'd get was going to be in January. So glad this was a surprise exclusive.

No it's not, but it is pretty pointless, seeing margot kidder go on holiday for the entire movie pretty much sums it up. Reeve is still awesome in it though.

Lana Lang is MUCH cuter. :wink1:

Supes III and IV were more comic-book-like than the first two, which for most people equates to bad. But I don't mind 'em.

I agree, plus nostalgia helps a heap too. My real beef with III is the ridiculous slap stick beginning.

and Tony Stark!!!

Yes, the stories are very much in the straight 'comic-book' style, with little thought to actually making such a story work on screen. Still, it's that 'we had a try at making it a straight comic-book film' that appeals to me. I can see what they were trying to do, even if they mostly failed at it.

Still, they almost started something hideous! Just a couple of years later, Paramount were very eager to get Eddie Murphy (a self confessed TREK fan) into Star Trek IV. Happily, that failed to happen.

I was in love with that first movie in 1978 as much as any kid, but you can't get more "comic book" ridiculous than Superman a) spinning around the planet so fast that it changes the rotation of the earth and b) the act of him doing so somehow causing time to reverse direction as well. Then there was the whole WTF? magic throwing cellophane S shield in number II....

I'm watching Superman III right now, I actual think Pryor is one of the better parts of the movie.

I have a real soft spot in my heart for this film as it was the first Superman film I saw in the theaters. I had only seen the other 2 on beta on a crap T.V. when I was a kid before it.

It's really not as awful as people want to make it out to be. It wasn't a great movie like the first but was fun.

Best line... "I asked you to kill Superman and you can't even do that one... simple... thing."

I never thought I would get anything cool from figure wise from SUPERMAN III, so I'm stoked we are getting this.

Now if Hot Toys makes a Reeve Clark Kent I can pose him choking Evil Superman.

Hoping for a DX version too, that way I can feel comfortable selling my current one which I haven't opened yet for some dough to pay off some upcoming releases. If anything, you can always take the MMS head sculpt and just put him in his reporter clothes since he doesn't have his glasses when he's choking him anyhow.

I've enjoyed all 4 movies because, as you said, they're just fun.

What about a nuclear man figure? LOL I'm in the minority of "I actually enjoyed nuclear mans cheesiness" . Destroy.. Superman *cue roar*
