Maybe it's because I don't like Basketball and only follow it on a highlight basis, but sitting here watching ESPN and this is of course the only thing being discussed, but why does the consensus still seem to be that OKC is still the favorite?

wELL THEYVE GELLED FOR A FEW YEARS AND ARE DAMN GOOD, BUT THE LAKERS LOOK PRETTY SICK AND WELL ROUNDED, CANT WAIT FOR THE SEASON

Yes. It'll be a huge battle out west. As good as the two additions are, I believe that people are giving the edge to OKC because no one on the Lakers can guard Durant. Plus Nash will be a defensive liability againts Westbrook.

this season is gonna be boring as hell. Kobe can't win squat on his own, first he needed Shaq, then he needed Gasol, now he gets to keep Gasol, but add Jamison, Nash and Howard, why Duncan is and will be considered the greatest player since Jordan retired.

If you don't wanna be bored with basketball then don't watch the Spurs. :monkey3

Thunder are overrated, they should never of beat the Spurs and got owned by the Heat, assuming the Lakers are Healthy the Thunder stand no chance.

Good one, I wish the Spurs were "boring" thats when we won titles, but since we lost Bowen, we are not a run and gun exciting team. come on,keep up, the boring thing is outdated. we're now a typical exciting NBA team .

Although for the record I never found the Spurs boring, as a basketball fan you got to appreciate their system, but I can see why Casual fans would think it's boring.

Your the one that said the season would be boring, can't help me first thought was of the Spurs. Guess I just associated one with the other.

I just posted this in the NBA Enterbay thread. The reason we'll never see an EB figure from the NBA's all-time leader in assists and steals:

Kobe has become the new LeBron. Can't win anything on his own. His championships are pretty much meaningless now which is the one thing he covets more than anything on Earth. Ironic.

Imagine MJ needing Ewing, Olajuwon, and Admiral to win titles in the 90's.Never would've wanted it.And never needed it.

Sorry, can't take anything a fair weather fans says seriously. Bandwagon fans are the lowest scum in the world of sports...:)

You must be a Spurs fan....sucks to be you....:lol

Gonna enjoy watching Howard work over Duncans old ass!

I respect the hell out of Jordan but I think it's pretty obvious that to win a title these days, you need more than one superstar. Mostly because superstars flock to create superteams. That does make OKC a bit more impressive since they drafted their stars. But what happens when you have to sign those guys to max contracts? Guarantee OKC won't be as good when they lose all their role players. As for the Spurs, whether they are winning titles or not, they are boring. Again, much respect for Duncan but he's never been exciting to me. And for those hating on the Lakers, hate your own team's GM for not being as good as Mitch.

It's not just that. OKC has probably the one guy that can guard Howard by himself without help in Perkins, then you add Ibaka to come over with weak side help. I think Howard is a complete dunce, so I hope he never wins. His indecision was worse then Lebron's decision imo. It's a good upgrade for LA, but it's not like Howard is miles better then Bynum. It's gonna be up to Nash to make things work cause their coach isn't all that good. Orl should fire whoever gave the thumbs up on this trade, they got the 4th best deal in the trade :slap :lol.

Kobe can't win squat on his own.

why do people continue to say this? Name me 1 player who has ever won a title on his own. Even the best basketball player ever didn't do it.

damn, look at all the scared spurs fans *****ing and moaning all over the thread. can't help but rofl! :lol

Olajuwon in 1994, Pistons in 2004 had 0 stars, Duncan 2003 (please dont say Admiral, who was a SHELL of his former self and Manu/TP who were completely raw and didn't contribute nearly what they have in recent years), I would even argue Wade in 2006 with Shaq being a shell as well. It can be done. It's just players are too lazy to put in the hard work and be patient and have taken the easy way out. Good for them, but many or most won't ever put them in the same echelon as the all-time greats...

And winning with other stars is one thing when it's done naturally through drafting or smart role player signings like all great dynasties have done. But teaming up the sake of winning championships makes winning a ring cheap.

Press conference at 5 PST for Dwight's introduction.

Chris Duhon any good? Is he a slight upgrade to Steve Blake?
