Paint apps on P1 look okay, though I'm really impressed with the hands. I think if they improved on anything paint-wise, it was the color scheme that got an upgrade. Doesn't look quite as toyish as the Classic.

I think P1 is great! And I love the plastic he is cast in. It is like the 1/5 scale Predator 1 figures, semi- translucent. The legs on mine have some weak paint, way too dark, but I can live with that.

But that isn't the same type of cloaked. That looks like a ____ing chameleon and a Predator toy got sent to the wrong paint factories. I want Berserker half Predator half clear.

Eagerly anticipating BBTS to stock these... till then here are some poor quality pics of my Series 1 & 2 figures on display in my Alien & Predator shelf
Please excuse the bad quality of pics, its a combination of my 6 year old mini camera and my skills

First the Aliens The NECA Classic and Warrior from Aliens, the chestburster and facehugger are NECA too from the Wolf Predator figure... the Dog, Queen and Alien Warrior are McFarlane...

The Predators (Series 1 & 2 figures and parts mixed) just need the hound to pose over the body of the decapitated classic to complete the Predator's display

good lord, those McFarlane figures are still terrible.

ah, you're right. didn't look at the pics closely. anyway, i don't see why there won't be a half-cloaked Berserker. NECA is famous for finding ways to reuse molds. just wait for it.

yes, paint is too dark on the p1,i guess they wanted it to look different from the classic and p1 w/ gort mask.

I actually prefer the darker paint scheme on this P1.

And who is to say that it is too dark or not? I'll tell you who, home theatre enthusiasts.

After all, if you're not making comparisons between this figure and a high definition image from Predator on an ISF-calibrated display device, then you really can't talk about the colors.

mine is darker all over compared to the 2-pack P1. the armor is much more shiny too. there's definitely a stark difference between similar figures made at different factories.

Or if you compare it to the suit, which there are those around. And have you seen the photos I posted of my P1? The legs are almost the same color all around. That is too dark. There should be a bigger color difference.

Indeed, you could look at the suit in-person, but at the end of the day, I'm assuming we're going with what should be screen accurate, right? Sort of like how the Pulse Rifles in Aliens were all brown in real life but on-screen the colors of the film made them appear olive drab.

____ screen accuracy. I'm a fan of suit accuracy. Lighting changes all the time in a film. If a figure is meant to be screen accurate it is going to be scene specific. I hate that.

You know, you make a very good point. Lighting is key, which is why I experimented so much in my NECA @ Night series here. Additionally, for the figures I have on display in my compound, nearly all of them are specially lit in one way or another for a more dramatic effect. So, I guess in some ways I'm less picky about the colors because I'm going to augment their appearance anyway via lighting.
