I just got the ultimate City Hunter yesterday. Luckily it doesn't seem to have any loose or stuck joints or broken parts. I was able to get the blades to fully extend with a little effort, and thankfully the wrist panel is intact (for now). The only issue I'm having is trying to get the plasma cannon to slide up on the shoulder, either with or without the blast effect accessory, without the head and dreads getting in the way. I apologize if this has been discussed before but is there a solution to this?

You can rotate the plasma cannon at the neck of the support, if you rotate it sideways you have more clearance away from the head and dreadlocks. If you look at the pic above, the cannon is now a few millimeters to the side of the cannon rail. Its a balljoint, and it may be tight from paint etc. but it will move.

Picked up a 2nd ultimate city hunter today and this one was perfect except for the computer flap issue but neither of mine have broke yet, the blades on this one extended out as compared to my first that won't. It really is an incredible figure, just hope the computer flaps and the extended spear don't break.

Found him at TRU today.

Overall I'm pleased with him.

I've never owned a city hunter before so this new release was perfect for me. You do get your money's worth when it comes to accessories, he's loaded. His joints so far all feel solid and tight, except for his waist which is a little loose because of how the back of his belt was jammed into into it in the packaging. Speaking of belts, I hate how those pieces around his waist float around. It does take some adjusting to get them where you want them.

I will say to watch out when it comes to the paintjob, as they vary. I had to look at all 9 or so that were on the shelf because they were all different. The weathering of the armor and mask vary, as does the hands and feet. I saw one whose feet didn't even match each other in color.

As for the wrist computer issue, mine seems to be fine for now. It does feel delicate, I know there has been a lot of complaints of it breaking as soon as it is taken out of the package. Neca should have designed it better. I did see 2 or 3 of them in the store that appeared to be broken in the packaging. One had a cracked hinge, and the other two appeared twisted as if the lids were going to fall off.

The wrist blades do extend, I know some have said that they don't move. Mine were stuck, but I was able to free them and now they slide band and forth no problem.

I do wish there was a way for the unmasked head to be more visible in the box, because it is difficult to inspect the paintjob in the store when it's so deep in the tray. I will also say that the decorations on his dreads could be painted better. Seems like the factory slacked off a bit on those compared to some of my other predator figures.

Another thing to note, was that all throughout the packaging tray, there were plastic shavings that looked like they had come off of a drill bit. My guess is that they came from the neck sockets of both heads, like they had been altered at the factory so they would swap easier.

He's a great looking figure, but be careful when buying one.

Yeah good luck with that, no thanks.

The licensed products at least require "some" form of consumer protection oversight.

Bootlegs are a no rules free for all consumer be damned.

But whatever, buy at your own risk. :lol

Oh I dont buy bootlegs, I couldnt sleep knowing I have a fake.

But even bootlegs have warranty nowadays if you buy say from Aliexpress, theyll replace your stuff way quicker than Neca because Chinese sellers actually care about their reputation.

Bit I don know the quality of Neca bootlegs.

Well I spoke too soon. Somehow overnight my cityhunter's computer hinge cracked. What a joke.

I do think it's possible to fix it, I just need to find something to replace that middle piece

I agree, with the exception of Transformers bootlegs.

Recent Transformer bootlegs are FAR FAR superior to the Hasbro or Tanaka versions. More articulation, more diecast, more paint apps, more accessories, just all around better. The Wei Jiang stuff makes everything else just look bad in comparison.

Success! I was able to repair the wrist computer. I'll try to do some pics soon of what I did. I replaced the broken middle piece with some leftover metal loops that came in a set from the jewelry making section of a craft store. I don't remember what they are called. The computer lid is now secure, and it does stay closed fine, though it's slightly looser than before when it is opened. At least now I don't have to return/exchange him.
