Updates:

From Fwoosh:

Back at NYCC it was revealed that the Ghostbusters line would offer its first figure “around Father’s Day”. That is rapidly approaching, does that still hold true or do you have an update for the 12″ and 6″ debut days?

Unfortunately, no. The first release will be Egon 6” at SDCC followed by 12” Ray in September.

Since SDCC is right around the corner, can you give us an idea of how many DCUC, MOTUC and Ghostbusters figure reveals we will see at the show? Everyone is excited for a big showing.

We will have three new waves of 6” DCU figures, at least 1 new Ghostbuster figure and at least 6 new MOTUC figures.

From AFP:

For Ghostbusters, you’ve said you’re planning to go beyond the four main Ghostbusters. Does that mean going after other likeness rights, for example, for Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, and Annie Potts?

We are very interested in expanding the line beyond the four main characters. We may even get to a secondary character before we do all four primary Ghostbuster characters.

Secondary characters before finsihing the 4 guys? ^^^^.

well at least this is an update!! cant wait for the 1st 6" fig and i cant wait to see the realy 12" sculpt for ray. i can finaly get that horrible head sculpt test head thatr was on the figure b4.

I just got the new Toyfare, it's dedicated to Ghostbusters,
but I'm disappointed with the lack of details regarding the Mattel line...
not much info abd only one pic of a new product.
A No-ghost figurine, which is pretty neat, I'll try to post it later today...

I can't wait for SDCC, I'm sure we'll see lots of GB goodies then!! :rock!!

Toy Guru said they are showing only one new ghostbuster figure?

Im hoping so. i cant wait to see the 12" figs finished. im happy with the 6" figs. yes they do look alittle cartoony/charicature of the actor, BUT i still think they have a great likeness towards them. so ill be getting them.

any1 reckon they will release game versions of the guys, with the modified proton pack i mean? that be cool.

i jst like trhe idea of having a set of the guys in both gb1 and 2 uniforms on display in my room, and hopefully ray and winston with slime blowers for their gb2 uniform.

Yeah, but we might get the chance to see the actual production pieces of the 6" line,
plus the real 12" prototypes... maybe?... :dunno

There's also Minimates, and the Stay Puft bank!!

Somebody beat me to it, from JoeGhostbuster over at GB fans!!
here you go:

picked up Toyfare #144 at my local comic shop yesterday - I scanned anything related to Ghostbusters, and even though all the pics are of stuff weve seen (where are the Venkman & Zeddemore prototypes?) there's lots to read, enjoy...

Is it me or do the Proton packs look very anorexic?

I remember them being bulky 55 lbs packs, these look like stylised comic versions.

It'd be great to have movie accurate ones..

Hmm, I think the movie versions could be chunkier and maybe also taller? It's hard to tell.

I don't like the design at all... looks like a cheap knockoff...
even Neca's was better :horror

and he back:

The worse thing about the back is that it's showing a pic of 12" 'Ray' that looks exactly like the crappy prototype...
What a hell Mattel?? :dunno

Actually I really like the packaging, and Ray looks decent for the price and what very little we can see.

In my opinion, the packaging is very nice, the back keeps the GB feel while the front just looks very modern meshing with the classic Ghostbusters. I was fine with the Prototype Ray to begin with. I thought it was good looking, and the pack looks great. At least now I know when to get the money together for the 12" figures.
