Picked up all of the TRU Minimates today and really dig them. They're cute and funny. I'm not a huge Minimates fan, but I love Ghostbusters and I can't resist all the possibilities for figures that the line offers. Kinda sucks that we'll have a couple duplicates if we get all the two-packs and the four packs...but small price to pay and there's probably some variants to be made that we might not get in official Minimate form.

Those are very cool but I'm more of a Kubrick guy and will be picking those up when they come out... :naughty
I definitely want those Kubricks, too, but we've heard nada from Medicom since they were first announced last year. I'm beginning to fear that they ran into licensing issues.

yeah im abit confused too. it says it will be onsale at sdcc 1st, then on the site, but is it the slimed egon or regular egon on sale on mc??

hey kuzeh, so is mattycollector also selling asmall number of the san diego version of egon aswel then?? or jst the regular after sdcc?

and teemu, yes there is a reg version of egon, there were pics of the reg version posted awhile back when the prototype figs were shown. its exactly the same jst minus the slime.

well the version they are selling at SDCC and Matty is the slimed version..perhaps a regular comes out later.

thanks for that kuzeh! and yeah teemu, once the sdcc version is onsale matty collector will be selling the regular.

i hope these are pretty good to move cos id love to have them displayed in different positions, holding their proton wands or in 'action poses'.

That's just a prototype. We were all under the impression that this was an SDCC exclusive variant of a standard figure but these days Mattel doesn't seem to be marketing this figure this way.

If you were to stumble upon this listing now you'd just think it was the first figure in the line. Now it also makes no reference to it being an SDCC exclusive (which it never truly was, technically), just something available slightly earlier at SDCC.

The packaging also just treats the figure like it's a regular Egon Spengler figure. No reference to exclusivity or any sort of "variant" label.

It's always possible that the plans and circumstances behind this figure have changed. Maybe this is a variant, maybe it's the "primary" Egon figure.
