ive got my heads from vartel and painted ray over the weekend, il be able to post pics of my attempt later when i get home from work. the sculpts pretty good imo

ok here you go, its still a work in progress, i need to get more "life" into the eyes and give him some more detail but this will give an idea of what he'll look like. i imagine in the hands of a really good painter this will look awsome, but so far im pretty happy with this one

ChalkyYT, this is a great headsculpt that with some resculpt in the upper hair zone would be perfect

But with your paint job in progress, I can see to Ray perfectly here imo

Looks pretty good, chalky, particularly from certain angles. I think the right eye on yours might be a little off, which throws the entirety of the likeness off just a smidge in the 2nd and 3rd pics. But whatever the case, if my attempt comes off looking half that good, I will be thrilled!

Definitely supports my thoughts that Vartal really nailed the likeness. The hair is a little off, so I may attempt some mods with epoxy putty, but that is still most definitely Ray.

yeh, im having trouble getting the eyes right but il keep at it until i get something that im happy with!

I know I usually mock people that pick at various preduct offerings saying that "XYZ looks nothing like the actor!" to the point of me questioning their sanity.

However, I just really, really do not see the Akroyd likeness in Vartal's sculpt. It DOES look like Bill Paxton from Aliens, however. The rest of the ones he did were fair representions...just don't see any of Dan in there.

Hey Chalky, if you get a chance, can you show what he looks like with the goggles on his head?

yeh definately, i'll post pics as soon as i get my figure (its on its way!). by then i should have finished painting the head too. I do want to paint the googles a darker green to make them a bit more accurate but once hes in uniform i think the sculpt will look pretty cool, especially with the googles on

jez mattel must use the slowest international shipping service i've ever encountered. I got the first ray no probs but the second one is still to arrive. The fact that they give no tracking number doesn't help either.

Anyone in europe still waiting on theirs?

yeh im still waiting on my 12" of ghostbuster goodness to arrive (in the uk) it did say on my notice to allow 10-20 business days, plus i have no idea if/how the postal strikes are affecting this and no way to find out.

And they are both doctors!

I finished the gizmo (well the main part). This was one of the most detailed things I think Ive ever made. I needed surgical tweezers at one point...

Great job A-Z! Any chance you'll be reproducing them for sale at some point in the future, or is it just too much work to make it worth your while? No worries, just askin'.
