It's nice to have options.

I held out on the custom project too -- mostly waiting to see how the sculpts turned out first -- so I'm glad to have a less work-entailed option here with Mattel.

Perhaps swap out the heads, dye the suit the correct color, but most everything else looks solid at first glance. Maybe new boots too and replace that black scrunchy tube for a smooth one. All easy fixes.

I'll be very happy to have the Ghostbusters at long last on my shelf.

I hope they do a Terror Dog too.

Right on Glen, I'm with ya there. I held out on the run of proton packs, etc. for customs too, and this looks like a viable option. If us Freaks still get Chris Howes to do some awesome sculpts...gather a few extra details off the 'Bay (new bodies, new boots, etc.) and assemble the ultimate GB figures. It will be kinda like putting together that ultimate Gimli using the TB, Roto and DID!

or
get a couple each of these when they come out, swap the bodys to hot toys, possbily the heads chris is doin and use the mattel packs etc. change the boots to leather? maybe the flightsuit?? unless thats ok.

yea, I didn't want to have to tackle making 4 custom figures, the parts and heads would be too much to aquire.

Not sure its good form to suggest what others might do whom are already involved in that project, but certainly this opens up a number of possibilities for everyone.

I would say the need for the head sculpts remains imperative. In fact, I would wager the heads will become even MORE needed now...now that a lot more people will be adding Ghostbusters to their collection.

Anyway, Fall is a long ways off, so its best to wait and see just what Mattel actually offers for sale when the time comes. Remember the monster from Cloverfield?

The 12" clothes etc look good, but the sculpt doesn't remotely resemble any of the ghostbusters.

Are there any Venkman heads other than the Ada head?

I don't think anything on the figure is really screaming to be replace except the boots, but even they aren't that bad. Not knowing what the other headsculpts look like I think its premature to assume they'll stink and too soon to predict how bad the bodies will be, etc.

Personally I think this figure looks awesome as it is.
