Speaking of which whatever happened to these? I thought Zod will be released this December?

Well I read in the DC thread it wa scheduled for December 15th indeed... but nothing on Matty yet :(

To bad, I could easily do without the Ghostbusters, but I so want those Supes figs (even though, admittedly, the Superman pics with seen so far make him look less than stellar!)

Well if anyone could make him outstanding it will be you master 16k.:chew

Ohhh! Thanks for that!

But I'm afraid after two attempts, I'll never be able to get a Chris Reeve right! I'm waiting for Les' Supes to finally have the "almost perfect" Supes...

As for Ghostbusters, well I buy them and I loved the movie as a kid! I want my ghostusters! But, no offense meant to anyone, to me, it will always be a minor film compared to Superman the movie. It doesn't mean I don't like it! (well, though technically, I admit Ghosbuster 2 was a let down)

I agree about GB2 ... even as a kid at the end with the painting and all i was like.... WHERE IS THE CLIMAX?????? oh.. wait/... THAT was the final confrontation? C mon!!!!!!!!!Yes it was a let down... !

Yeah I agree i liked gb2 when it came out but then i was a kid so i guess i liked everything gb at the time real gb's etc. Looking at the film now it's still a good film there are plenty of funny scenes in it i.e the courtroom the whole yanos act, ray and winston with the kids. The oil painting villian let the whole film down. It was far too cheesy to be taken seriously. The first half of gb2 is great entertainment then the second half got really cheesy and the ending was a total letdown. I mean jeanine and louis. Comon... And vacumm cleaners grabbin the child..jezz

In the first film they had a 100 foot marshmallow man walking down the city trying to kill them. You can't really top that.

In fact im not even sure they should have ever made sequels to the ghostbusters. I think the first film covered pretty much everything. The only storylines they will ever be able to do on gb will be the 4 gbs or more out busting ghosts and fighting an ultimate villian.

It was kind of interesting to see where they were in gb2 but other then that it was really a rehash of the first one plot wise right down to a giant statue to liberty marching down the street aka staypuft.

The third one which is supposedly in the works will either turn out to be fantastic or like so many other sequels(terminator) people will be left scratching their heads and saying why couldn't they have just left it at the first one.

Absolutely, if you time it , they are not in full gear busting ghosts till the courtroom battle. And that's like afther 45minutes of the beginning of the film!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know that battle is amazing, people at my movie theather just went nuts, they yelled, they applauded, but afther that you don't see any other amazing use of the protonpacks... just outside the museum when they shoot at the Gellatin wall...and they fail... then inside, to Vigo.. and they Fail again.... then Vigo shoots some weird beams that doesn't do anything to them ... and then they fire at the painting.... TERRIBLE. Even Bill Murray said that it was a dissapointment. But Yes, you can watch it because the characthers are great, the acting is good, and the chemestry is still there....

But I just whish someone could answer me this one question... Why did they make Jeanine look like a brooklin Hooker????? WHYYYYYYY.
I guess that's why Egon lost interest in her :)

lol exactly what is up with turning her from a normal kind of nerdy secretary with a thing for egon into basically what is a prostitute with the hots for louis? I think the popularity of the real gb and jeanine's image from the 80's cartoon has a lot to answer for that lol

The scene at the end where they fire at the painting, vigo's face grows smaller and it explodes is just brutal really. I think its similar to the ending of jaws the revenge where the shark actually explodes and your sitting there thinking ok seriously did that just happen? They actually put that in the movie? huh?

I seen ramos being recently interviewed about gb3 saying they would would produce it until the draft script they are doing is perfect and the reason gb2 was so bad in their estimation was because the hollywood effects crews had loaded the film with effects to the detriment of the script.

whats with all the smack talk about GB2? i dont care what any of you say Ghosbusters II was awsome, scarier and funnier then the original. and this coming from a huge fan of the original. i dont see what the problem is between some fans, the 2nd one IMO was a step up from the original. sure it had more of a kid friendly vibe buit that is a good thing. maybe im just a kid at heart and vulgarity was never my favorite thing about movies. but it was very enjoyable and i thought murray was even funnier the 2nd time around. only thing i remember finding wierd was winston haveing no mustache lol. but other then that, great film. on par with the original, and viggo is such a badass ghost, scarier and more nightmare inducing then ANYTHING in the original GB's. and something about when he is the painting.....just creepy. GB 1 had some little fright moments but it just didnt do it for me with the scares. GB 2 solved that problem, especially scenes with the slime, and that tunnel scene....CREEPY! and murray was practically on fire in GB 2, every line he said was hilarious. i think this was at the hieght of his popularity. in short, i dont see how GB2 was a dissapointment at all, it was fun, hilarious, great special efffects and a different unique story and villian. and i love yanoosh, or however you spell his name LOL. some ppl say it was a rehash, but its not so much rehashing anything as much as simply being a "formula". just like the james bond movies, or the rocky movies. all have similiar plots but different stories all around. you always expect bond to defeat the bad guy, or rocky to knock the other guys lights out, or the GB's to defeat some ghost that wants to rule the world. its a forumla. but thats what makes the movies fun to watch. why fix something if it isnt broken?

No your right its not a bad movie by any standards and would be a step above todays standard of movie. Its just I feel anyway that it started so well and went downhill from round about after the courtroom scene. It became slightly ridiculous if you compare to how the first one kept its sense of slow pacing buildup to an ultimate showdown. GB2 from the midpoint onwards became a bit farcical and the ending was a damp squib. There was i feel no humour at all in the second half of gb2 to keep us from the slightly absurd storyline which was the saving grace of gb1. Its like they could see the finish line and just rushed the rest of the movie to get there.

Some of the funniest scenes I think anyway in gb1 happen towards the end with louis in his apartment and peter visiting dana's apartment when she turned into a dog. I think gb2 from the midpoint onwards they ran out of steam. I personally think also that the villians in gb2 were poor compared to gb1. We have peck, the marshmallow man, zuul versus the mayors assistant, yanosh and an oil painting. I felt a sense of antangonism between Peck and Venkman in the first film and some very funny scenes in the mayors office whereas the mayors assistant in gb2 was barely worth remembering. Yanosh was slightly amusing but not in the way Louis tully was in gb1 ' Yes have some'

The ending of gb2 was a letdown I think. They just blasted the painting. It all seemed very formuliac where they are all singing and happy, very 80's. Granted they sort of did the same thing in gb1 at the end and it was common in 80's movies as pointed out but it felt joyous given the ordeal they had just been through rather then the cheesy way gb2 ended.

Even peck got marshmallowed in gb1 which was hilarious. Perhaps im being too overcritical here but just felt wrong even when i seen it as a kid. But then again sequels are hard to do and the first time is always better ;), so thats why its still a good movie just not as good as gb1.
