:clap Best post made by you.... ever! Love a Caps fan seeing things outside of the box, and not going based on bias for the love of their team and superstar. I always had no problem admitting when the Caps did well, despite my well-documented distaste of the team.

And yes, I still believe this Caps team can challenge for the Stanley Cup. Get the teams best players interested, starting with Alexander Ovechkin, and they have the depth, grit, and scoring prowess, not to mention the backbone to go the distance. Their goalies maybe inexperienced but they know how to win the big important games come Spring time. Their tenure in Hershey is evident of that.

I look at it like this, it's great for the game of hockey to have Sid playing and playing well. I also just think it would be sad to see such a promising career end early due to injury(ive joke about him in the past but thats just to piss u pens fans off). Now all that said I hate the Pens and will root against them every time they play but that's just fandom. As for the Caps....they lack heart and that starts with the captain.

Pens are exciting to watch(especially with Crosby) but, i'm more interested in seeing how St.Louis, Nashville and Ottawa are going to do come the first round of the playoffs.

Hell, i'd like to see Philly go deep this year, maybe even win a cup, and St.Louis especially.

Looks like you are looking bad on that Stamkos will take the Art Ross with ease statement. Malkin has pulled himself ahead by 9 points in the scoring race and he's played in 4 less games than Giroux, and 7 less games than your buddy from Tampa Bay. Mmmmhmmm. Keep chirping! I love it! :yess:

Change the thread title to "NHL: Penguins Ball Washing Thread". :monkey3

First of all, it's been clearly documented that I am a fan of the team. It's also a fact that half of the main posters here that post in this thread are fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Again, most exciting team in all of hockey right now and you're really shocked that we would be discussing the team like we have, especially after such a _____slapping the Jets were handed lastnight... and Malkin and Crosby equated for 9 points between the two. Give your head a shake. Perhaps if the team was playing terrible hockey and Malkin was playing hurt like he was last season, it wouldn't be the big discussion, but it's not. So give it up. Great teams that are riding on a 13-0-1 down the stretch run and have dominating players scoring at a crazy clip will be discussed more than the rest. Simple logic. Now good day sir. :wave

The only other discussion one could come up with that is remotely exciting as the Pittsburgh Penguins run and Crosby, Malkin, and Neal's big games last night is the return of Alexander Radulov to the Nashville Predators. How long does he stick around this time? Nice to see him back. He dominated the KHL a couple years back and at this point could be a lazy one dimensional floater or he could play lights out and be in the top 10 of NHL scoring as early as next season.

Its actually going to be renamed, the Penguins nuthugger thread :rotfl

How can you blame us, they are killing it right now, but like Kit said, I am slightly worred they hit a rough patch at the wrong time :(

:lol The only other team I get more pissed at for winning is the Rangers. This isn't a good year for me to say the least.

(Hoping they hit a rough patch. :pfft:).

Get ____ing over it, same with you Kit.

End of rant. :lecture

I just don't like Pittsburgh. As in the city. :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Never have. Had Lemieux played somewhere else I would have cheered for him too.

Luckily I was able to catch the memorial cup run Crosby made with the Chicoutimi Oceanic during the lockout in London. Fantastic games.

Eli,

I'm more than over it. I don't care anymore. I'm glad he's healthy and playing. I'm just saying I KNEW going into the draft that he was going to Pittsburgh. I personally believe it was rigged.

I stopped taking sports so seriously after the Caps flop vs Mtl. I still hope they win, but I'm WAY over putting so much emotion into it since I was the one pissed off and ranting when the players get in their Ferrari's and go home.

Very well said. When you put it that way it makes it hard to get so emotionally involved. Especially when there are much more important things out there deserving of our emotions.

So I am extremely pissy. Daniel Sedin cheap shots Duncan Keith in the head. Keith in response to the cheap shot, returns the favour and gives Sedin a concussion. Now he's not playing in the Dallas game for me! GAH! I have him in a fantasy keeper league. I am out a 80 point NHLer. Ugh! It's our playoffs too. Bummer.

I read that Keith is only going to have a phone hearing so his Shanaban will top out at a possible 5 games.

I also read that Matt Cooke was the Penguins choice for the Masterton. Wasn't their ANYONE else they could have nominated?:monkey4

You know what? Matt Cooke has toned down his idiotic cheap nature, and is not the usual bastard we know and hate. He still gets the other team to take penalties (which is what we want), but if you look at his PIM count he has really controlled his antics. And has been fixing in on the offence. He's being less destructive to his team by taking less irrelevant penalties. Not that many have relevance to begin with, and finally being one of the usual suspects when it comes to the scoresheet lately. I gotta say, I am liking this new Cooke.

One of the Sardine twins is out? Beautiful..totally made my day. Glad it was Keith too. Always like him as a player.

I don't! The Sedins usually play a good disciplined quiet game. They are great skilled players that have the best chemistry in the NHL for obvious reasons. To get off on a player like that getting an injury, or any player for that matter, is pretty low.

Having said that, I do like Keith. He's a fellow Pegger.

I'm sure that Cooke seeing the light and finally playing the right way makes Marc Savard sleep better at night.:rolleyes2

As for a better nominee, they probably didn't have to look that far. Malkin has come back from a serious injury and put together an MVP caliber season.
