So bad.:ohbfrank:

Baahahahahaha.

Damn...The 80s....... :thud:

What were they thinking????

I'd say the Blue Jackets came out on top of this deal:

"The goal-starved Los Angeles Kings acquired three-time 30-goal scorer Jeff Carter from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday in exchange for defenseman Jack Johnson and a conditional first-round selection in either the 2012 or 2013 NHL Draft."

Alexander Ovechkin is their team's best player... ever. You never trade a franchise guy. Especially one who's just over two thirds from a great season. Who's stupid enough to assume he would be even the focus of trade fodder for Washington? Idiots...

Guy has been the best goal scorer of the past 15 years, but you trade him for two thirds of an abysmal season due to his contract and what his history suggests. Hmmm. Okie dokie. Pittsburgh should have traded Malkin last season... oh yeah, he leads the league in scoring (okay shared with Stamkos, but in 8 less games), but sure, that would have helped the Pens, how?! :rotfl

I laughed when my friend suggested it. I said, you also must believe pigs fly.

Oh great, someone will be posting the Simpsons gif. :angrycanu

No he's not. They are both young studs. If they can get that chemistry going it could turn out really good for LA. Now that Dustin Penner contract was a bad move.

Time will tell. If the murmurs were true in Philly about their nightlife I can't imagine it being better in LA. Maybe they matured some we'll see I guess.

Boys will be boys. With that said, hopefully the men show up. Especially now that they are on Los Angeles. Like LA. Philadelphia, not-so-much.

If they miss the playoffs and are stuck with Penner contract after Monday, hes done

But think bringing Carter will push them into the playoffs.

Nobody will take on Dustin Penner, so by that definition he's done if they don't make the playoffs. Nobody wants Penner at his price for a guy who is on pace for single digits in goals. I think they can make the playoffs though. But yeah, taking on Penner is looking pretty bad now. Not the first or last time a GM botched the big one...

Can anyone remember the last time the Habs were last place in their conference this late into the season?
Has it even happened in the last fifty years? I think we might even have to go as far back as the 40s...

I shudder to think what Gautier is going to do on Monday.

Edit - Just checked. The last time the Habs finished in last place was in the 1939-40 season:

1939-1940
Team GP W L T GF GA PTS
Boston Bruins 48 31 12 5 170 98 67
*New York Rangers 48 27 11 10 136 77 64
Toronto Maple Leafs 48 25 17 6 134 110 56
Chicago Blackhawks 48 23 19 6 112 120 52
Detroit Red Wings 48 16 26 6 91 126 38
New York Americans 48 15 29 4 106 140 34

So did anyone think the New Jersey Devils overpaid for Marek Zidlicky?

Decent enough offensive-minded blueliner, but he's been having concussed issues for the past couple of years and he's older (35). Quite a bit for an aging defenseman who hasn't played in over 50 games in two years. Also the numbers show that when Zid was playing, the team is far worse than when he doesn't. I have the numbers somewhere. I should post them. Those numbers alone will baffle you and ask you, "Why New Jersey?!?!?!"
