Yea Pitt's been firing on all cyilinders for the majority of this season, you've got scoring right down the line from that team, same can't be said for Tampa so, i give Stamkos more credit and not to mention his previous efforts in years past.

Your logic ceases to amaze me at times. Just because other lines are producing or that the Pens are a better team as a whole, doesn't make it any less miraculous. In fact, Malkin hasn't had Letang for 20 games this season and he has two linemates who are benefiting from his outstanding play. Not the other way around. You do realize Kunitz is a 45-50 point w/o Malkin, and Neal was 37, 55, and 45 before being Malkin's winger. St. Louis is a former Art Ross Champ and MVP. He was 2nd in NHL scoring last season and was the better player of the two last season between Stamkos and himself. Lecavalier and St. Louis >>>>>>> Kunitz and Neal

Yes, the success of other lines and the difficulty of shutting those lines can burn out the other team, but what do you think the opposing team's best shut down lines are being put out against during those Penguin games? That Malkin line. More-so the focus is on Geno, since he is the brainchild of that line. He's the primary focus. In TB that entire line is full of superstars and on any given night they can dominate individually or scarier yet, all three of them can play a dominating game.

Vincent hasn't been the same player since 08-09 and i think he needs a change of scenery and St.louis has been great,Malone is ____ ,Downie is ____..and really thats all you've got to say about Tampa other then the main guy(Stamkos) running the show.

And i think teams are starting to shut down that Malkin line now anyway, Leafs did it last time they played them with ease. You better hope Crosby ingnites a fire for your Pens in the playoffs because, i don't see this team having enough gas to go all the way this year.

Malkin with lesser linemates has a 1.37 PPG avg to Stamkos' 1.16.

If the season ended right now, Malkin would win the Art Ross and the Hart. :)

Career PPG avg - Malkin = 1.21 - Stamkos = .99

Malkin - Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, Art Ross, Calder

Stamkos - Rocket Richard

Malkin is a Mario Lemieux clone.

Stamkos is a Brett Hull clone.

Am I missing something here?

Ummmm, yeah, because a few games is enough to go by, even though that line has produced in every one of those games... and ummm they won their last game and the team put up 6 goals. Today they lost... yeah, teams do that. Even the better teams. Also, don't know what Crosby has to do with the discussion. If anything it further proves that Malkin has been carrying this team and is deserving of the MVP label.

Again, I love your logic and perspective on some things. :wave

I will say this, one player I am glad that's showing up as a dud is Alex Ovechkin. :yess:

How did they produce?, they were shutout by Riemer 1-0. XD

All i am saying is, Stamkos has it harder then Malkin right now and still finds a way to make individual plays to get the goals, even the garbage ones.

Actually yea, you're right Valfar...Stamkos does have it harder on Tampa. He has to be on the same team as Steve Downie :panic::lol :slap

So what? Evgeni Malkin has to be on the same team as Matt Cooke. A guy plays on a team with an a-hole, the logic I am getting from you two is that he it makes it much more difficult to perform? Okay, Cooke is our guy then! Aside from causing a short handed situation by generating pointless penalties, they have little-to-no impact on how either player performs. Note: I get that you're being sarcastic in your post, but still. I had to go there. We have our idiot too! :nana:

Malkin makes that Pens team more dangerous by being such an example in each game. 71 points in 52 games is quite the impact. Nobody has his PPG avg this year. Well, unless your name is Sidney Crosby, and that doesn't even count because he's played in 8 games. In the end it's much more than that. In the 6-2 game he had 1 point, he could have easily had 3. He rung the puck off the iron a few times. He scores when it counts the most. His game winners would lead the league or close to it if he didn't miss 8 games. If he doesn't get the game winners, he ties the game, gets it into OT and usually is the OT SO difference maker. He checks. He's aggressive. He's so hard to beat in the corners and along the boards. He can have 3 guys on him and yet he still somehow keeps the puck on his stick, and get it to an open player. He creates so much space for his teammates. Ever since Sid went down again, he has been hell-bent on getting the Pens those W's. All his training and hard work over the Summer to regain his 08/09 glory has paid with great dividends. He's so clutch! Playing strong defensively and dominating offensively. Being a leader. Taking on the opposing team's abuse. He's so clutch out there, and I for one love seeing this new passionate Malkin!

Speaking of clutch, how good is Radim Vrbata? On pace for 38 goals, 13 of those being game winners. WOW! So far he sits with 28 G, 10 GW. Guy has been such a stud. Of course the major factor there being Ray Whitney. You speak of the ageless wonder Teemu Selanne, well how about the ageless wonder that is Whitney? Having an All-Star season at 39. 40 in May. On pace for 73 points and a +27 rating. Incredible! Vrbata will be back down to 19-22 goals next season if and when Whitney's game goes or he retires. Can't imagine this being his last season. He's too damn good! And what's more impressive about his season than Selanne's (not trying to take away from the greatness that is the Finnish Flash), is the fact that Whitney has never been a superstar. He's been a career 65 point guy. So to see a 70-plus point season from him at pretty much 40 is nuts! Especially on Phoenix of all teams!

Need advice for trades I have been offered in a 30 team, 24 roster keeper league. Protect 16 at the end of the season. Can only lose up to two players in the draft. NHL points only league. Trade offers
-----------------
My Dany Heatley for his Paul Stastny and a mid 2nd round draft pick.

My Brendan Smith (Detroit Red Wings' No. 1 prospect, top 50 in HF) for his Radim Vrbata. He's been digging at me to get a 2nd involved in the deal. But I been pushing to make it straight up. Smith is a potential 45 point, 100-plus PIM dman when he makes the team as early as next Fall, and he will. Babcock pretty much said-so. Vrbata is a career 45 point guy, but is coming off a career-season, one he surely will not repeat. But he does give me a 40 goal scorer (for this season) for a guy in the minors. Next season he'll be up. Could be a Calder candidate.

My Tyler Ennis and Brendan Smith for his Mike Cammalleri and Mark Streit. I do realize if I deal Smith in one of the deals, the other offer becomes moot. Different GM.

My Tyler Ennis and Mike Green for his Adam Henrique and Shea Weber.

My Tyler Ennis, Jared Spurgeon, and a late 1st (these are picks btw) for his Ryan Kesler and garbage. Garbage is whatever player he sends me back as he would have to drop a guy if he does a 2 for 1 deal with me.

My Daniel Sedin, Stephane Da Costa, and a 2nd for his Scott Hartnell, Clarke MacArthur and two 1sts.

I don't know. But when they show up, we can ask them if they've ever heard of Stamkos or Malkin.

That can go for any small market. I know a lot of people from my city who don't know who the top baseball player is in the MLB. It seems that my city knows its NHLers, CFLers, and NFLers. We're a big hockey and football city. Heck, even UFC fighters, but alas, that isn't a team sport. Heck, many people in my city don't even know who Chris Bosh is in the NBA, despite the fact he was the Toronto Raptor's top bballer for so many years. Yes, I realize he is with the Miami Heat now.

It all depends on the market and its interest. If people know Sidney Crosby's name it's because of all the marketing of products that his name and face is tied down to. His face is on so many things. No different than people knowing who Lebron James is due solely to top marketing. Still, I know a lot of people who don't even know the name, Lebron James.

Selanne is my idol. That is all.

Yep. He's the man.

Does anyone here collect those Labatt's Blue miniature Stanley Cups that they used to include in 24 cases like 10 years ago? I just found a bunch and wanted to see if anyone wanted them before I chuck them out :lol

I'm ready to see more from Rene Bourque. If he doesn't start picking up his game soon, the media is going to start their feeding frenzy. This trade is starting to look like another bowzer for Gautier. Given what teams are giving for 2nd round choices, you can bet teams would have paid dearly for Cammalleri come trade deadline time. Gautier really has to go.

My Dad did.

Ended up completing it by buying the Hawks and Leafs at the card Convention on Airport road. He's a die hard Blackhawk fan...so every case that did have the Hawk cup he got pissed (literally) :rotfl

I wouldnt throw them out...they go for a pretty penny still. Throw em on ebay.

I'd say they would be hard to sell, even Ebay is loaded already with these things and Kijiji not so much but, its worth a shot i guess.

Not that far off and Bourque isnt playing with Iginla
