Yeah, tanking that Flyers game gave them a gimme series. Everyone knew this series was over before it started. The Sens were in a tail spin and everyone knew they be one round and done if they were lucky enough to hold on to a playoff spot.
Meh. Still a playoff team laden with a plethora of talent.
Oh that's right, a 1 a and 1 b goalie tandem, Meszaros, Volchenkov, Redden, and Phillips on D. Dare I fail to mention the great wealth of forward depth up front in Alfredsson, Spezza, Heatley, Stillman, Vermette, Fisher (okay he's hurt), and so on?
It's also good revenge from last Spring's early exit. See the mural the Senators put in the Penguins dressing room? It shows a mural of the Sens shaking hands with the Pens in a series defeat in Game 5, with a graphic banner in the back ground that reads, "SENS WIN!!!" I love it that we're taking it to this cocky team. Also, as a lot of people know and have said, once the playoffs begin, it's a whole new season. In fact, many people had the Sens as their favorites, regular season standings be damned. Least we not forget the Sens beat the Pens in their regular season run. So I don't think it was that predictable...
You just hate the Penguins that you won't acknowledge when they play well. :maul
Anyway, go Caps go! I want to see a Caps and Pens match up. Love the history between those two teams in the playoffs. Caps take the first two games, or the series 3-1, then fall flat on their faces. hehe
Nah, your team is pretty awesome this year. I wouldn't take them lightly.
