blah blah blah...

Anyway, my Pens are up 3-0... so I am very very pleased. :D

Yeah, tanking that Flyers game gave them a gimme series. Everyone knew this series was over before it started. The Sens were in a tail spin and everyone knew they be one round and done if they were lucky enough to hold on to a playoff spot.

Meh. Still a playoff team laden with a plethora of talent.

Oh that's right, a 1 a and 1 b goalie tandem, Meszaros, Volchenkov, Redden, and Phillips on D. Dare I fail to mention the great wealth of forward depth up front in Alfredsson, Spezza, Heatley, Stillman, Vermette, Fisher (okay he's hurt), and so on?

It's also good revenge from last Spring's early exit. See the mural the Senators put in the Penguins dressing room? It shows a mural of the Sens shaking hands with the Pens in a series defeat in Game 5, with a graphic banner in the back ground that reads, "SENS WIN!!!" I love it that we're taking it to this cocky team. Also, as a lot of people know and have said, once the playoffs begin, it's a whole new season. In fact, many people had the Sens as their favorites, regular season standings be damned. Least we not forget the Sens beat the Pens in their regular season run. So I don't think it was that predictable...

You just hate the Penguins that you won't acknowledge when they play well. :maul

Anyway, go Caps go! I want to see a Caps and Pens match up. Love the history between those two teams in the playoffs. Caps take the first two games, or the series 3-1, then fall flat on their faces. hehe :D

Nah, your team is pretty awesome this year. I wouldn't take them lightly.

Where did I say the Pens didn' or are not playing well? I didn't even say I blame them for tanking the Philly game. I just said it was obvious they did and that they got the match up they wanted and it's working according to plan. The Sens have been a sinking ship for a month and they the lost Alfredson on top of it. It was gonna be an easy series for the Pens and they know it.

as for the Caps. I think they are done. They pushed so hard just to make the playoffs and like last years Pens they look young and scared. The Flyers will win the series in 5 or 6. Look out for he Caps next year if they can resign Huet.

They got Daniel Alfredsson back for Game 3, and as an early result, they pushed hard. In fact, the Senators outplayed the Penguins in the first 20 minutes. Problem is, after the Nick Foligno goal, one would think they would build on that charisma and energy. Instead, Maxim Talbot replied back in mere minutes to tie up the game 1-1, and then it was the Penguins from that point. They clearly dominated the following two periods making short work of the Alfredsson led Sens 4-1.

While the Senators have been hurting, for whatever reason... they have such a deep team in terms of offensive, defensive, and physical talent, and their goaltending, while not the greatest, is definitely good enough to take them all the way, has been miserable. Also, doesn't help that the Penguins have been riding a hot streak in 2008, which started when Crosby went down with his big injury, and the fact that all of their forward lines have been firing on all cylinders.

Even with all that said Eli you can't dent how BAD the Sens have been for at least a month. Everyone ( I guess except you :lol ) knew they were a sinking ship and a 1 round and out team. They have been terrible and just barely held on to a playoff spot after having the best start in NHL history. They were falling a part and they were a gimme series for the Pens.

While there were a few, including myself (don't kid myself, I loved the Pens chances and foresaw this), but most thought the Sens would atleast make a series of this. Not even you could say after 3 games, that the Senators would be down 3 straight games, and outscored 13-4. :p

I don't know of many who thought the Sens would make a series of this other than a guy here or there who wanted to buck the system so he could hopefully say "told you so" down the road.

I figured the Pens would sweep this series or at worst win it in 5.

Either way, it's good news for me. Crap news for Sens fans.

This may come as a surprise to some, and the old me from years ago, but the NHL now plays second fiddle to my first love, the Moose and the AHL. I rather see a Calder Cup win for my home team vs. a Stanley Cup win for the Pens. In a perfect world, both of my teams would win Championships. But if I had to pick and choose, I have to go for the local home team. Funny since, when the Jets were in town I never went for the home team.

Guess it's because I can afford to be a season ticket holder at the AHL level. Still see great hockey. In fact, most of the players I see end up making the NHL, and not only stick, but thrive.. ala your Kevin Bieksa's, Alexandre Burrow's, Ryan Kesler's, Alexander Edler's, and Mason Raymond's. I guess seeing so much of the Moose in the last few years, getting to know the Moose player and staff very well, and the fans.. to the point, everyone treats the regulars as family... Not to mention our great playoff runs, over time, that organization bumped my Pens as my next priority in terms of fandom and love for a team.

True story.

Go Moose Go! We gotta take out Syracuse! They are RED hot!

these things can happen in the east, where some teams just don't have a snowball's chance, like ottawa. more competitive in the west, imo.

minnesota takes the series lead 2-1 with yet a third 3-2 ot win in the series. avs AGAIN blow a third period lead, just to tie the score and send into ot. they played very sloppy, failing to convert numerous chances in the first period. sorry to say that a 1-0 lead in any game is just not enough scoring to win a game in this series. if you miss the chances early, you'll pay for it late. the ot goal was the biggest piece of crap i've ever seen. avs defenseman skating back to touch up for an icing call. the puck takes a weird bounce and winds up on rolston's stick. a pass to bouchard for the tip-in and the games over. i think this is the first time for a series' first three games to go into ot, all 3-2 wins. game 4 tonight. i don't know if i can take the roller coaster ride anymore. LET ME OFF!!!
:google :sick :yuck

Dude, it was +23 C on Monday. It's safe to say our "supposed Canadian Winter" is now over.

And lovely how being Canadian gets thrown into this. Running out of Grade-A for Ass material are we?

Finally tylerd sir, I take great offence to your comment made on behalf of the moose. Beastiality is something to not kid about. It's wrong! I do not condone the actions of humans having sexual intercourse with any animal, despite what kind of happiness or arousal you may get from it tylerd.

eli, is it possible that you are the thickest person in the world, canadian or otherwise? :lol = written jokingly btw, my mom is half french canadian which makes me 1/4 canadian, so i'm pretty sure that qualifies me to make fun of canadians. my grandmother, whom i never met was from quebec and didn't speak english. she died before i was born.

since we cannot actually speak to eachother, we have to make sure that we carefully read each post, as not to assume or misunderstand. 'smiles' are a great way to grasp the intent behind the post. btw, isn't it love a moose day in canada? :wacky :wacky :wacky

now, eli, can you read between the lines? :lol :lol :lol
