He might as well move to NYC... It's looking more like China every day.

The whole country will look like this eventually. Too many people are thrilled to let the government mandate how they live their lives.

Sad to say... I agree 100%

Nanny Nation is coming soon. We will all be "entitled" but with very little freedom.

Well when you are pelted by a 20 ouncer thrown from a passing car I don't want to hear about the dangers of the 20 ouncer from you and how it should be banned. They tried to save you from this before anything happened and you just cried about your freedoms........

:lol:lol:lol:lol

Why doesn't he belong here?

This nation was founded as a republic which is about the rights of the individual. I'm sick of people and groups attempting to turn it into a nanny state where government mandates continue to get more and more intrusive.

If someone wants to live in a nanny state then is suggest you don't belong in a republic.

For that to happen, parents would have to be found accountable for their children instead of blaming everybody else for their failed parenting. Not gonna happen. :monkey1

Pretty much. When people can actually start being responsible we won't have to have government do things like this for us.

Good point but really not what we are discussing...

Isn't it? It's parents blaming fast food for making their children obese. Then the next step of blaming fast food for making themselves obese because their own parents didn't teach them to be responsible for their own actions. Bloomberg jumps at the chance and takes this initiative, essentially blaming companies for offering larger drinks as a contributing factor to obesity (instead of blaming the obese for being incapable of self control) and rolls with it. See how that works? :huh

Josh,

We don't need them doing it now. I can order a 10oz or a 100oz if I want to. It's not up to the government to decide our meal portions for us. Next will be you can't buy more than a 7oz steak. The government needs LESS power.....not more.

i dont drink those crap so it doesnt matter much to me personally but bloomberg went too far this time, even china doesnt have laws like this, i just came back from there :slap What's next? limit the amount of time one can watch tv? use computers?

He should really pass a law to limit the number of sideshow statues one can buy each month, that will save us a nice chunk of coins :lol

You should be able to I agree. Problem is people do that then sue or blame someone else because they're an idiot and got fat. As I said if people could just be responsible we wouldn't need certain laws to be put into effect. Don't blame the government for doing what most can't do for themselves and show self-control.

So you're saying the government SHOULD step in and stat telling us what and how much we are "allowed" to have? I can't and never will understand this train of thought.

So people aren't always responsible........so what? The government can't force them to be nor should it have the power to attempt to do so.

Don't blame the government?

For what, making intrusive laws that take away our freedom. No, they're not to blame at all.

Government... Good

Freedom... Bad

I've got to keep repeating that to myself so I can really enjoy the Nanny State.

I agree with you again! You can't legislate behavior but they sure do try.

What do you expect the government to do when people are blaming them for their own personal failures? :dunno
