The only reason I'd buy a second of any figure is to sell it later. I have no need for multiple Sparrows or T-1000 or Jokers on a shelf. Its not like its that difficult to change them around every now and then.

DANG! 9 more pages since yesterday already.
There's something both 'cool' and 'off' about the Medicom Sparrow.
It sorts of strikes as more of a "Captain Jack Torrance"... You know... "Why is the redrum always gone?"

Yeah, I didn't want to come off to everyone liek I was flexing any muscle or anything, but I will definitely display two, so I can have both expressions and a coatless, hatless version, and then I'd like one to use in a different cabinet with the steering wheel, and I'm also thinking about bashing a COTBP verson using the old Medi belt...
But yeah, it might be pretty stupid since I already own all the prior HT Captain Jacks, and the Medicom.
I dunno though, it's obvious I'm a big fan, so I think I'll over do it a little anyway.

See, you have a plan though, that's all I'm curious about. LIke I mentioned, I'll have 4 1/6 Jacks when I'm done, but a reason behind each.

Usually when people talk of buying multiples of a figure, there's talk of why, like myself and some others bought a few of the T-1000s to make his various incarnations and we talked about it, but in here, people mention getting several DX Sparrows, but I haven't really seen anyone talk about why and outside of the obvious 2 for each face, I couldn't see what the logic was to doing so.

Also, if you're going to make a Curse Jack, if you have the Medi parts, you'll want to use the pants as they were also a different color in that film. While marketed as a DMC Jack, Medicom Jack is head to toe Curse version. That's why I'll be using my Medicom Jack as well, I'll have HT to represent 2-4 and Medicom will POTC 1.

Maulfan, If I could, I would purchase 5 of these as well. I would display one and sit on the others until they have at least doubled in after-market price and start flipping them like hot-cakes...

I've taken my fair share of hits when selling off figures (as I'm currently doing...) but have also made a pretty penny as well on some. The main motivation in selling has been because either I no longer find them as fitting to my collection or have run into space limitations (as I currently have...) In the process, I've been able to funnel those funds into newer pieces and projects. It pretty much balances out in the end.

I'm really curious, what need do peeople feel to get more than 2 of these, I just can't conceive of a purpose to it, people are talking bout buying multiples but with seemingly no reason beyond he looks really well done, I'm just curious, are you planning variants, what are you going to do with them all.

Don't you have 50 T-1000s? Same thing.

Every possible Jack....

Best Jack Sparrow figure ever :lol

Regarding Jack's tats, I think it would have made things more interesting for his character had they stuck to the wounds revealed in the Curse deleted footage, I think it gives him more depth to have suffered such horrible things.

That's the beauty of collecting...you get to display the way that makes you happiest.
But don't be selfish. Take pics and share 'em. ;)

People who saw Blow and Fear and Loathing and knew he was a badass, before he became Tim Burton's golden boy. :monkey3
Ed Scissorhands and Ed Wood were before both of those you mention. Sleepy Hollow was before Blow. Though he wasn't in every Burton movie back when, he and Keaton were Burton's go-to guys from early on.

Yeah, that Medicom is weird, right? Packaged as a DMC figure. but definitely a Curse Captain Jack.
Except that damn tattoo is facing the wrong way, haha.
I actually do like some of the clothes on him thoug (minus that horrible scabbard), so I was think of even using more than just the pants. Even though in the sequesl extras they say that his coat is the exact same material, I always think the Curse jacket looks a little bit darker. I'm not sure why, could just be me.
But also, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't also getting an extra to stash away, just for my own edification, or maybe to make my buying a little easier down the road...
:D

Seriously, me too!
I always loved that whole sequence, and I was a little sad they scrapped it. Those scars were so much cooler, and totally did add a lot more depth. I felt like there were a couple times in the first film like that, and you can definitely tell that overall, he seemed a little more troubled in Curse than the other two.

I totally will! :D
Haha. Hopefully they'll come out ok.
I actually bought another cabinet in anticipation of these new DXs, I want each to have his own shelf space, with the diorama pieces and everything.
Mr. Lee wil be first, I guess. Two weeks!!

Yeah, the scars a subtle way of saying, not all of Jack's adventures are glamorous, certainly the ones on film have to be, but doesn't hurt to have signs that this guy has been in serious situations either.

The very first time I recall seeing Depp was when he was on 21 Jump Street. LOL!
