This figure is still outstanding with or without that silly scope.

Also, even though its a ____-eyed way of limiting the scope, there will still be lots more this way than if they just made it exclusive to Sideshow. So in the end its actually better for you all.

I heard less _____ing about the Exclusive Scarecrow, Demon Bats and Beat It figures than I have about this dinky telescope. As if regional or retailer exclusives are somehow a new phenomenon.

I'm used to the retailer, store and/or regional exclusives. I can't imagine how much crying there would be if you guys complaining collected Transformers. There are so many different types of exclusives in the TF collector world that you grow immune to the idea of possibly not getting a certain exclusive and you move on. I mean come on, are we just complaining b/c we have nothing else to talk about?

I think it's more a growing sense of entitlement in culture, more any more, peopel feel they're entitled to anything that anyone else is and how dare people get something they can't, and it's really growing in collectibles, I've seen sculptors here get torn a new one because, despite being nice enough to offer castings of a head they do at all, they're ripped for not making them for everyone here that wants them.

Just pre-ordered me this bad boy last night. Decided to go with Alteregocomics.com, instead of Sideshow because its $230 shipped, you're card isnt charged until the figure shipped, and you after 14 days you only have to pay a 10% cancellation fee. Sideshow is over $230 without shipping, and they require a non-refundable 10% deposit within 24 hours of purchase. Im happy with my order. =]

SSC will also charge you tax because you are a resident in the same state.

I think the worrying thing about the "exclusive" is if it's the start of a trend from Hot Toys.
I'm not bothered by the telescope in this instance, and have never wanted an "exclusive" simply for the sake of it, but what if next time it's actually something pretty vital to the character or worse a second head sculpt?
Being excluded from one of these simply due to the geography of where you live would suck IMO

I agree, this is the issue as you've described it.

Many who are fine with HT's decision to do a geographical exclusive, because the exclusive item itself is not appealing, are missing the point.

I'm not telling anyone how to spend their money.
All I'm saying is that this is a matter of principle, as was stated several times already.
Maybe one day, HT may omit you from an accessory you do actually like. Then what?

This decision by HT is a strange one indeed.

They do all the time -- and they're usually called Sideshow exclusives, like Dutch's headset.

If I want it bad enough, I'll pay what it takes to get it. Usually I let it go. It's pretty simple.

This time around they've created an exclusive that is available to a wider audience, and people still complain.

Personally, I think exclusives are lame and elitist, but that's a whole other argument.
