Re: My Yoda Life size bust horror story!

Damn thats not funny. Good to hear that the Bust itself is in proper condition. But the box looks really terrible. That let's bleed the heart of a collector.

Re: My Yoda Life size bust horror story!

I agree, it would be like any other store, target, wally world ect, the item in the package is what matters, not the package itself.

Re: My Yoda Life size bust horror story!

I would so give the ahole ignorant seller a negative. He owes you a refund of some sort. How stupid can some people be? If this cost anything more than $50, which obviously it did, it's irresponsible for a seller to do such a crappy packing job. How much was shipping? What's their feedback count?

This is exactly why I state, "please package securely to prevent damage to staue and collector art box" on every significant transaction.

Re: My Yoda Life size bust horror story!

Thanks for the link to the thread, now I know where to post pics.
I have one question to those who have this bust. Is he suppose to only have the 1 hand? Under his cloak the other hand is just a nub.
I don't know if it's suppose to be like that. Any info would be great.
Also thanks to Mesa, the guy wasn't forthcoming saying it was new. I had no bad feelings leaving him negative feedback.

stunning pictures i cant wait to get this bust

I got mine and the this is awesome!
I'll post more pics of him later when I get the chance.
I've posted pics of my horror story when I got him on Wednesday, in another thread.
I have all the life size bust now except Darth Maul. I'm keeping an eye out for him. I'm not too sure about the 501st Clone Trooper bust yet.
Maybe when I see other members pics of it, I'll pull the trigger on it.

Re: My Yoda Life size bust horror story!

He might have got a discount out of the guy for having falsely advertised it as new.

That's what I thought. But I guess it's too late now, especially after the negative comment. Sad to hear this story; just had a bad experience myself, not lost so much money, but I can imagine a small bit how you feel.

Re: My Yoda Life size bust horror story!

Sorry but if the product itself is undamaged i don't really see an issue with this. Ok, it is not supercool to get a damaged box but afterall it is ONLY the package which function is to protect the contents.

Leaving negative before contacting the seller is inapproriate imo. You could have asked for a pricereduction instead.

That's a terrible way to ship that bust. It's not so much a matter of wanting a mint box. The inner boxes on these things are fairly flimsy and could easily fall apart if used to ship them without any protection.

When I won my Attakus Jabba statue on eBay, the guy just wrapped the inner box in brown paper when he sent it, and that box is even larger than the Yoda. I was horrified to see it on my porch, up on one end. So I know what this can be like. Luckily, the statue was fine. That said, I agree that giving a negative might be too much, since you did get receive the statue in fine condition.

Wouldn't you be afraid that if you were in his situation and only saw the box lik that the bust would have been damaged to? I understand your point of that the box is only to protect the product, but I always save the boxes of the products I buy so I have a good way to transport them if I'm going to move.

Have to agree with others, I would have communicated with him first and given him an option to do a partial refund. We all know that the condition of the art box does make a difference. When I sold mine I had to find an even bigger box to ship him in. It was a total pain in the ass, but the bust and box arrived safe and sound... as it should be.

Oh, and there is only one complete hand, the other is just a nubbin.

Yup. He only has one visible hand. The nub should be under the cloak (where the other hand should be).

Congrats on the bust! It sucks that the seller sent that bust out like that. Starwarshop.com did something similar to me. They shipped by General Grievous Bust in it's original brown shipper (which was beat in pretty bad)...the box with the artwork was completely apart at the seams (like your pics). When I checked the bust for damage, it was fine...but it reeked of cigarettes.

I want to thank everyone for their support and to those who helped me with the hand/nub hand question.
I just took some pics of it and when I have the chance after work I'll post them here.
I'm so glad the bust wasn't damaged,I also don't have any bad feelings leaving the seller a negative feedback. It was far from new and for the price I paid it should have been shipped a lot better.

So would you willy nilly give someone negative feedback without trying to resolve the issue first?

I didn't realize I hadn't posted mine in here yet.
