I really enjoy my 1:1 Yoda... I'll have to get pictures done soon-- but what I really like here is how you've got Obi posed (hands on his belt)-- I think I might have to steal that.:D

Right now my Obi has the one hand raised to his chin.

You'll have to put his belt lower on the figure to get the look to be natural, but it's ok because Guinness actually had his belt riding fairly low. I did his belt first to match his film costume then I tried the arm pose again and it looked fantastic. When I first got him and had the belt about where I have it on other figures, the arms bent odd but once the belt is in the right spot the arms look great.

I'll try that, thanks. I've also already added some padding to give Obi is "let me have another Tatooine burger please Flo" belly.

Posted in the Yoda is coming thread, but it suits here too

I've seen this one in person, and I just can't wrap my head around it. From certain angles, the likeness is spot-on...but then from others he looks horrible. I can't understand it. :monkey2

I think a lot of that has to do with how we never saw Yoda from every angle on film and with this bust you can see it from all sorts of views. Lighting also plays a factor, and we never saw Yoda in all sorts of lighting either. The other big difference is that Yoda was a hollow puppet that tooks shapes and such at times because of that, and in representing him in a solid 3D format, there will be some discrepencies and points where you have to take artistic license and say if this weren't a puppet, how would this look.

I agree with Maulfan,

I've done some pics from front, side, with flash and without flash
With flash it's just awful. From the front it's not nice either.

Thread Necromancer time!!! i just opened mine and put him on the shelf. there are a couple spots of discoloraton here and there, but its not really noticeable because its a brownish color and it almost looks like its supposed to be there. i love it and i think i'm hooked on the 1:1 scale now. much classier than the 1/6 and has a museum kind of feel to them.

Hairless, not sure what the brown's like in person, but I have similar in mine, I think it's just a touch to give the skin tone some life, not a defect at all. Mine in person looks great, really nice skin tone.

ok cool. thats what i thought too, but after i took the pics the brown REALLY showed. the spots i mentioned are small- one on the bottom of his chin and another behind his left ear. they aren't big and the only reason i saw them is because i was going through him with a brush getting all the styrofoam off of him.

Ya, it's mostly falsh lighting tends to show it, but it's common to all of them and like I said, you really just get a nice, life-like color to his skin in the end.

this is a beautiful piece, could never quite understand why they never made the piece full sized (ie, with legs) like the Salacious Crumb, wouldn't surprise me if we eventually see one.

The only thing that disappointed me was the painting on the eyes, they look very flat and pretty lifeless. Still an essential purchase though.

D:D

I dunno... the skin pigment just doesn't sell me on it. I don't know, but it just kinda rubs me the wrong way and after looking at it I kept saying to myself to stay away from it.

The sculpt is awesome, but from certain angles it looks deformed and I don't know if it's due to lighting, but something isn't right about it.
