Official Yoda 1:1 Scale Bust Image Thread

I dunno... the skin pigment just doesn't sell me on it. I don't know, but it just kinda rubs me the wrong way and after looking at it I kept saying to myself to stay away from it.

The sculpt is awesome, but from certain angles it looks deformed and I don't know if it's due to lighting, but something isn't right about it.

Obviously it's not Sideshow's 1:1 Yoda, but I figure this is a good place to display my custom repainted 1:1 ROTS Pepsi Yoda.

If anything, perhaps it gives something to compare Sideshow's sculpt to. Of course it's a little tough to compare PT to OT, as well as mixed media to resin statues.

They just need to recast the ESB puppet face and do it like that. Make it rubberish, but so that it lasts for many many years without deteriorating and get rid of that semi-glossy skin look. The eyes are too green too.

To me it's the neck/lower face area that throws the Sideshow 1:1 Yoda sculpt off. The color isn't that flattering in real life as well unfortunately. Neither is the color on my GG 1:1 Yoda but I do like the sculpt better and the pose. It's got more action in it which I like.

The sculpt on that was captured way better. Yes the painting could be a bit better, but I have far less gripes with that one. Very nice piece!

The 1:1 Yoda is ok at some angles and just awful at others. It also needs the right lighting.

Something always rubbed me the wrong way about it. It's ok but could have been a lot more.



Oh well.

As for the other, it looks ok but I HATE prequel Yoda.

its the neck and eyes... that SS altered... the proto WAS MONEY!... then they came out with somthing completely different. really sad to see i was pumped about this piece.

The price of this piece (along with the fact that it's not quite the ultimate representation of Yoda that some had been hoping for) kind of turned me off, so I didn't think I would be getting one. However, I was able to get a brand new one for $395 shipped, so after some thought I decided to pull the trigger.

My first impression was that he does seem a little off somehow. Both the color and the sculpt. But that said, he's very good. I don't think there has been a better representation of the ESB Yoda -- certainly nothing approaching this size. He does look better from certain angles it's true, but it's not like you turn your head a bit and you're looking at something unrecognizable. He's definitely Yoda no matter how you look at him. He just looks better from some angles than from others. I also discovered that he looks better if placed closer to the floor, rather than at eye level on a high shelf. Maybe it's a psychological thing because we expect Yoda to be short. I wasn't sure about the hair, but after a little futzing (especially around the ears) it looks very nice and realistic.

I plan to get some pictures of Dagobah and of Yoda and Luke together and put them in the background. Should make a nice display. I'm also going to keep an eye out for a stick that might serve as a gimer stick.

Congrats on the score. I agree, I can see room for where folks aren't happy with him, but maybe it's my lighting, i've never really seen anything but ESB Yoda on my desk, I almost hear him talking "for my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is." Enjoy him.

I guess people want the actual pupet used on the set of the movie signed and deliverd by GEORGE LUCAS him self for people to be happy.

Wow! This is my Yoda guys! Solid Snake has been babysitting my stuff, and getting it sent there, so he can take pics and make his awesome movie showcases!
I just got into the Sideshow stuff! First, I got Darkness from the movie LEGEND, and now Yoda.
I was blown away by him! It's amazing. The inspiration and wisdom of old Yoda, sitting right next to you while you on the PC or something.

The pictures where the camera is above Yoda's eye level make him look much better. I have mine displayed so that I can look down at him slightly, looking up at his chin, I think the sculpt gets a bit distorted.

Well, late to the party... but at least I got in.

Got the Yoda Bust from a boardmember today and I love this friggin' thing! First its a lot bigger than I expected, and I didn't realize he was rubbery... I was expecting him to be all polystone. Are the other 1:1 busts like this?

Anyway, incredibly happy with him. One question, what do you do to get his sleeves unwrinkled?
