Yeah, it might be better just to go with Crossfire or SLI if you want multiple GPU support. Unless you've already got different brands of graphics cards lying around then it might be worth trying out.

I have my GPUs synced with PrecisionX. I can't even imagine the problems if you start to mix different brands and chipsets together.

Exactly, cause they're more native-ly optimized.
It is cool to know that DX12 can do that though .

I'd honestly like to see some real-world tests, whenever a game gets released that supports it :lol.

Man, my 780s are feeling old right now. I read that the 1080 should have around 30% improved performance over the 980ti.

Yeah wish we would finally get a game that's made to support it from the start. Rise of the Tomb Raider had a dx12 option added to it but it seems to have worse performance for most people.

Same with my AMD cards. I might build a new PC with NVIDIA cards for battlefield 5. :lol

I'll buy one card and stay with it, then another for SLI.

That's nice to know but disappointing. :lol

I wonder if it's worth upgrading from Ivybridge to Skylake. I've been reading mixed commentary about it. I'm still using an i5 3570K and DDR 3 RAM.

Kickstarter for John Romero and Adrian Carmack's BLACKROOM.

Romero and Carmack are two of the four founders of id Software. They've started a new developer studio called Night Work Games.

Some more info from a Twitch Q&A;
Engine and Development:

  • Development hasn't started yet. Some art and ideas are all that's been created. Will start immediately when 700K is hit.
  • C++, Unreal Engine 4.
  • Heavy modding support definitely planned. Level editor will be available.
  • No DLC
  • High framerate

Weapons and Gameplay:

  • 'The Voxel' is the wrist like device that the player wears. Controls your hud, interacts within the environment, and more.
  • "It will be Fast... like Doom" "Really fast, really fun" "Speed runner friendly"
  • There will definitely be some big weapons, we aren't limited to conventional weapons". He further explained there will be traditional Military weapons, modified weapons and then some bizarre crazy ones.
  • No loadouts! Carry as many guns as you can find!
  • Weapon, Health, and Power up pickups, Health can overheal and go above 100.
  • No Ironsights.
  • Chainsaw (hoxsaw) and shotguns confirmed. Weapon mods confirmed.
  • Gibs galore! "There's going to be a lot of gibbage in the game...more value than you are used to." It can be possibly adjusted by "The Voxel"
  • "Proper Boss fights"
  • Checkpoints and difficulty levels confirmed, "Nightmare" difficulty is a stretch goal.
  • Ammo might be universal... you have to collect "bits". A little confusing how Romero explained it.

Levels:

  • Known as "holosims"
  • Very varied level design, complex maps.
  • Easter eggs and secrets confirmed.
  • Scenery can change randomly due to "errors" happening in the simulation.
  • Controlled level destruction (using your voxel)

Enemies:

  • Enemies will be varied, semi dependent on the holosim (military soliders, wild west outlaws, skeletons, etc)
  • Also has "Glitches"; monsters that clip through the holosims and are "bad news" when they show up.
  • Monster/baddie infighting Confirmed.
  • On enemy counts in levels: "If you remember classic games... that many monsters!" So lots?
  • "There will be some huge enemies, that have huge guts"

Multiplayer/Other:
  • Co-op, Deathmatch (team and 1 vs 1), and more.
  • Multiplayer levels will have some different themes from the SP levels
  • Characters from the inside the game (inside the holosims) can be picked as player models.
  • Teleporting and telefrags will be in.
  • Music is lots of metal, with some ambient/moody music.

Welp. I got this off my parent's today. The old Windows 98 PC from 2000 :rotfl

I'm going to take out the hard-drive, and mobo (with RAM), then scrap everything else today.

There's a sweet "anime" sale on Steam ATM.

Grabbed Dragon Ball Xenoverse for 16 bucks and the Mega Man collection for 10. Fun little games!

I was just reading up on that. No need for me yet but good stuff. Interested in seeing what AMD has for an answer.

It looks impressive! I just wish those RRP's were actually converted fairly into other currencies. As usual, we get shafted big time.
