I went with a closed loop water cooler on the gpu too. i like to tinker too much and change stuff so open loop water cooling wouldn't work for me.

Did you modify a Corsair CPU cooler for your GPU? I get my H100i tomorrow... hopefully, it proves to be a lot better than the cheap H55 I've been using.

There's definitely some cons with open-loop water cooling. But, you have to admit, those set-ups look pretty sweet! :lol

I went with the evga 980 ti hybrids which already come with them (they do sell the cooler kit separate too).

@spartan031792: Nice job on the specs!!! The 980ti was an excellent choice, same with the SSDs. Why'd you for for a 1200W PSU, though?

Oh, I forgot EVGA sold their own cooling kits. I'll have to look into those later on. Foolishly, I decided to SLI two open-air 780s. My temps are out of this world, the bottom card runs 20 degrees cooler than the top one - which is almost always throttling.

Who all is looking to upgrade when the next gen of graphics cards come out? Or for the Broadwell-E processors?
Had to upgrade a few components recently, but I haven't done a full upgrade for a few years so I think it's time

When i upgrade the rig later or add more gpus. It sort of like a future proof psu. I could haven gotten away with half the psu but this cost me like $240 shipped brand new, so why not. It's usually $300+, back when i got it in August 2015

I'm still running an i5 3570K on an old MSI Z77A-G45 motherboard. The processor has been running great, but the mobo has been slowly degrading over the months (more recently, a few of the connectors for the front-side USBs are just inoperable). I'm definitely planning a massive upgrade for next year. If my motherboard survives until then. Much sooner if it doesn't.

Oh okay, that's a really good price. I was pretty happy when I caught a Seasonic 850 W PSU on sale last year for $90.

If I may ask, what are you using for LEDs? I like how the white light blends so nicely in with the red on your fans.

Its one led strip, i got it from frys electronics and it came in a yellow package. It was just a generic led strip but white. I remember there was an American flag on the packaging haha

If you have front ports not working, check to see if the plugs have come out of the motherboard, I had the USB3.0 ports stop working on my work computer, but when I opened it up to do an upgrade the cable had just popped out of the socket.

Did you plug the monitor(s) into the bottom card? It helped even out the temps with mine.

I already did :lol. I have three USB 2.0 connectors on my motherboard. Oddly, two have failed for no reason, and one works. So, I already switched out two connectors and now I'm on the last one, which has been okay for the past year (knock on wood). I also checked to see if there were any bent pins, but they were all fine.

I dunno, do you have any idea what's going on?

Nice! I'll have to check that out. It it looks great, and white was a great choice of color for the reds :clap.

I was thinking of getting one more led strip, i feel like its too dark in there.

Go for it! Let us know how it is. I'm good till a few down the line.....unless they are really a big enough leap from where i'm at.
