Yeah, if the comparisons are true then this is the biggest GPU jump ever, and the value of the old cards should drop pretty significantly. Curious to see how low the Titan X goes.

"In raw performance, then, we're looking at a card that will be at least 30 percent faster than the GTX Titan X, and it'll be priced at $600. Even the GTX 1070, which will cost $380, is expected to exceed the performance of the Titan X in most workloads. Nvidia takes things a step further by claiming the GTX 1080 will beat two GTX 980 cards running in SLI. Ho. Lee. Crap. How was this done?

A lot of the improvements come thanks to 16nm FinFET, which is a huge jump in process technology compared to the previous generation's 28nm planar transistors. Nvidia says the GTX 1080 is more efficient than the GTX 980, which was their previous best card for efficiency. And while the GTX 1080 will use more power than the GTX 980, it's not significantly more—the 980 is a 165W TDP card, while the 1080 is a 180W TDP card. Oh, and it only requires a single 8-pin PEG connection."

YIKES! I was telling Kiba last night that I was going to hold onto my GTX 780s until next year. Seems like a bad decision to do that. I think my two 780s are going on Ebay this weekend. I won't mind getting a reference 1080. I can always game on my PS4 while I wait in the meantime.

I'm so glad I didn't give in to the temptation of the Gigabyte GTX 980 G1. I shall finally upgrade my trusty EVGA GTX680 sc this time around.

New cards are going to be awesome, but it will be a while before these will be required for top tier stuff.

The 980ti will hold everyone over for at least another year or so.

I usually build a new PC every few years, so I've got at least another 2 years before picking up nVidia's new stuff. Hopefully the cards 2 years from now will be even more cost effective! Hopefully they keep making the Hybrid models. I haven't loved a card like I love my 980ti Hyrbid before.

If I had a 980ti, I would've held off upgrading for at least another year. The card's a monster.

By the way, are any of you guys gaming in 4K, or transitioned to VR as yet?

I don't know that you can really transition to VR, there's only a handful of games for it. I'm going to get the 1080 so I can do 4k at full quality, right now it goes at ~30fps or I have to lower graphics settings using the 980

Only thing as a console gamer that I'm jealous of: 60 fps for every other game, and FOV options. And faster loading times.

Now that I think about it, time to get those (now) 50% cheaper video card upgrades!!!!

My Overwatch mouse came in today!

Just 10 more days until launch day!

Is that a Deathadder? I had one, i liked it but it didn't last long due to a pretty poor build quality (2013 version)

Thought so, it looks really nice actually, but unless they have significantly upped the build quality, I'll stick with my Roccat Kone XTD.
