I added the H100i yesterday to my rig, and also installed a 12 cm LED strip from BitFenix at the top. I'm surprised at the amount of brightness that this tiny strip can output, it's literally blinding. It looks very dull in the pic, but I think I'll just keep the single strip, I don't want my case looking too flashy.

The H100i fans are obnoxious and LOUD. I'll have to switch them out this week for some Noctua NF-F12s.

Are you doing push or pull? Or both

I currently have pull
Case
Then its fans
Then the radiator

I need some more of the long screws to do psuh pull

I have the fans doing a push. It actually works pretty well, from what I've seen so far, and air actually makes it through to the other side of the grill. The reason why I placed the two fans at the bottom, was because I like to remove my case fans and clean them out every week. It'll be a pain in the butt if I have them at the top, because then, I'll have to remove the entire radiator, in order to get to them.

What fan setting are you using in Corsair link, btw? Silent, Balanced, or Performance? I'm still trying to figure out a good fan curve...

Since it gets warm ib my room, i have the punp on performance but the fans are around 800 to 1000 rpm

Wondering if you guys know what's going on here. I replaced the Corsair H100i fans today with Noctua NF-F12 fans. However, the Noctua fans run at half the speed of the Corsair fans. Even at the "Performance" setting, the NF-12s only go up to 1000 RPM. The fans are rated at 1500 rpm.

The Noctuas seem to run at their normal speed when connected directly to a fan header on the motherboard. Is Corsair Link only compatible with the Corsair fans?

Should be, lots of people use the noctuas. Doesn't CL just up the fan speed depending on CPU temp? Maybe it's not needing to give the fans full power.

Is there a manual setting in CL for fan speed?

Hmm... I think you might be right. I have the fans on "performance" setting, but right now, I'm only seeing 900 RPM. I can manually set the the speed in the fan curve. Although, I'm not sure if speed can increase beyond 1000 rpm.

I did a stress test with Prime 95 (with stock CPU speed at 3.4 GHz), and the hottest core only reached 57 degrees. I guess it must be doing something right......

Good lord, three years later and I just discovered that I had Click Bios II on my MSI board so I don't have to restart all the time to access it. Not only that, but I can even control the PWM fan speeds with it :thud:. What have I been doing with my life...

I just purchased three more Noctuas, now my case is going to be decked out in coffee colors.

Well, this is amazing. I completed switching all of my 140mm case fans to Noctua NF-A14 PWMs, slowed them down to 50% speed from my bios, and I can't hear anything from my PC, aside from a very slight "woosh" of wind from the NF-F12s connected to my H100i (I'm guessing it's the sound of air being blown through the radiator grill). My PC is pretty darn silent now, I'm really impressed with the performance and the low noise from these Noctua fans.

So what PC games are you guys looking forward to? The only game that has me excited is Overwatch so far.

How many of you are still on Windows 7? Call me stubborn but I refuse to update to Windows 10.

Windows 10 actually gave me more stability in some games like Witcher 3 and GTA V. You'll also need Windows 10 for DX12. Granted, there aren't a lot of DX12 games now, but if you're running (or planning to run) SLI cards, you'll be able to stack your VRAM. You should get on board while it's still free. Or else, you'll have to pay for the upgrade after next month.

You don't need SLI to be able to use that DX12 feature, you can actually combine any DX12 cards(even Nvidia and AMD brands together). But--the game has to support it

Wow, that's awesome. Not sure if I'd want to mix Nvidia and AMD GPUs though, in case there are any driver (or hardware) compatibility issues.

In any case, I can't wait to get rid of my two 780s this year.

Okay, that's what I thought; sounds like the capabilities are limited. But that's news to me. Pretty amazing.

It shouldn't be limited but the issue is that each game has to be designed for the feature, from what I understand it basically sends tasks to each different GPU so it has to be managed properly.

Well, I'm thinking that it's not as optimized. But yes, you're absolutely correct, all in all, the game has to be coded for multiple GPUs.
