But seriously folks....
The new Jack's scabbard doesn't look any longer to me...just that he's less bulky without the jacket.
It should hang at his hip, not at his midsection.

I didn't realize that Jones was quite so colorful. He does suit Disneyland in that color display.
I might try to mute my colors a bit with a muddy, green "sea" wash... that is, if he comes to my door looking so vibrant.

Only figures I want from this line is the Will Turner, Cannibal Jack, and Liz in a victorian dress with her hair done up nicely.

I don't think they are always accurate in their descriptions... lets hope Davy is taller than that. I assume he's taller than 6' in the movie, but maybe he's really a shorty on screen.

As much as I like the Davy figure, after watching AWE again, I don't think they quite got this right.
The facial colors are a bit too pink and bright and that glossy watered down look just makes him appear to plasticy to me.

I think part of the colors though might be the extra bright lighting conditions. I think they are trying to show a lot of the detail. My guess is in more natural lighting he'll look better, at least thats what I hope.

Well I figured Id say it here, decided that I AM going to be ordering the V1 Jack but Im not sure yet if I'll just suck it up or if I'll sell off my Bruce Willis figure I've got coming but I NEED Jack now.

I agree that the face paint is a little to pinkish brown but it may just be the lighting. Here are a few shots of my disney Exclsuive Davy Jones.(awsome paint with an ok sculpt)

It is a a 16 inch figure. It has very minimal poseability as expected but I think it blows Neca'a out of the water.

I think you right. It’s really a light issue. The pisc. from HT is really bright and nice to show all the details, but not to show how the colour looks for real. They usually look’s much better in real. I was wondering how HT should get away with the semi translucent tentacles that DJ have in the movie. HT really nailed it using painted silicone.
Even in the film the tentacles changes a lot depends on the light.

I think Hot Toys did fine with colors and all on Davy Jones, and there is always room for change come production piece.
Davy Jones being the type of creature he was changed greatly with the lighting of the moments he was in. Most shots, he almost seemed greenish because there was a hue applied to all of those shots to add to their mood. My guess is that HT selected colors based on what they were told they were to be or the source material they had and Disney's people defined him the way they went. The colors are a bit more vibrant than the film which was more muted, but that's been a trend anyway. Jack's handkerchief wrapping his hair is always made pure red and if you watch the films, it only got that way when we otherwise it was a pinkish gray red tone.
