Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

The Cannibal King head is one of the single best mass product head ever done on a figure IMO.....I'm thinking of buying one for the office....wheres the cheapest place I can buy one?

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Man oh man, I hope with all of these Cannibal pictures it means we'll get him in a few weeks. :)

He was due end of April, it's possible we could get a shorter 12-15 day notice or less with Jack, or he could be due in same time as Davy. It'd be cool to see some Davy pics too. With Jack turning out so well and Will being all so-so, Jack's who I'm most excited for, then Davy and Will last, though ironically first to get shipped to us haha.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Hot off the FedEx truck from HK, on first impresions all the sculpts are even better than I thought they'd be. Smiling Jack looks much better in hand than photos seem to make him look and Cannibal Jack is absolutely a freakin work of art, gonna take some beating as 1/6 of the year.
Gonna try and review as quick as I can-

It is frightening how good the Jack heads look. You have to look kinda hard to tell it ain't a pic of Johnny! The Cannibal head I was really iffy about, but by God that is great!

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Both heads look fantastic thanks for the pics Wookster. Please, share in here or get a review of Will before Jack, Jack speaks for himself but I'd love to hear from you on Will as your opinion is quite good on these figures and I'd love to know how Will ranks with you because odds are I'll feel the same.

Sadly, your pictures confirm the molded neck, WTF Hot Toys.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

They both look great, IMO. Nice to see they look about as good as they did in the first pics released of them.

What do you mean? They make a new torso with no neck joint except at the base of the skull? When I first looked at Will, I thought it was just one of the muscle bodies.

Nope, I had hopes it was a body swap for the perverted images posted a page or 2 back, but Will is on a standard plastic HT body that now has a fully sculpted neck with only the joint at the base of the skull. Apparently HT felt a need to make the showing neck and chest of the Turner figure aesthetically pleasing by not showing the joint, not realizing most collectors are used to it and don't find it all the bad, especially because the Pirates costumes hide it well, like Jack's hardly shows. It's definitely a dissapointment as it stands, I'm curious to know what Wookster's feelings on it are.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I need to play around with it a while tonight, but the ponytail would have restricted a lot of movement if the neck had a double joint.
I'd have prefered a double neck-post but I can kind of see why they did it.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I'm seriously disappointed about the sculpted neck as well. Its not needed for this incarnation of the figure, had it been the final Will with the chest scarring it would have been slightly more understandable but as this line follow it doesn't make much sense. I have a feeling though that many collectors were planning on swapping the body of Mr. Turner any way especially with HT rereleasing their True Types but it should be needed.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

OMG OMG OMG!

*flaps his arms in excitement*

I can't wait to get my Cannibal Jack!!!

GET ME THIS BAD BOY NOW!!!

NOW...

I mean... NOW!!!

N...O...W...!...!...!

I mean NOW gull darnit!

Why won't my powers to bring objects into my possession at my very command work?! Dammit!

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

The Cannibal Jack head looks fantastic! So much character... and I think if figured out what is bugging me about the smiling sculpt. He just looks too serene, which is not a look you would associate with Jack Sparrow.

Really? Is the pony tail not a soft material because Jack with all his dreads gets a great range of motion with his neck I'd think Will could totally maximize movement with a 2 jointed neck. Thanks for sharing though. If he really couldn't utilize 2 joints, i could live with that but if HT just made a bad choice that's going to be a bother.

Really? I can remember more times throughout the trilogy where Jack just smirked and smiled when an idea was brewing then anything else.....

Ya, of the 3 heads, I'd say the smirk one best represents how Jack looked over the course of the trilogy, the cannibal head best represents Jack's personality even though he didn't constantly have a face like that, and the V1 head captures the serious promo image look.
