Yeah that was the best part. I seriously hope that there's a simple fix for this. Someone on the hidef digest forums mentioned that if Sony can't figure out a fix Sony would have to fix all of them for FREE, or do a hardware recall..which would seriously suck for them.

From what I have found out the old PS3's with the backwards compatibility had there internal clocks programed with a leap year in 2010. This is what is messing up the whole system.

I wouldn't say its just limited to the ones with backwards capabilities because mine is not and I get the error message. When I played GOW yesterday I thought that maybe the network was down and then I noticed I wasn't getting any trophies and then jumped on the board and saw this thread.

Do you have a fat PS3 or a slim?? Its the people that have the Fat PS3's that seem to be getting problems.

just got a call from my brother in law at my house and all of this is now happening with my PS3.
its only about a year and a half old. And is not backwards compatible.

Hopefully they fix this soon ...

Just watched it....WOW. While I'm not gonna jump to final conclusions, but if Sony does indeed have to do Total Recall on their machines....game over. That's worse than the RROD proportions.

I havent tried switching mine on yet either. Got it new in July also because my old one, the Blu-ray player went bust, and it was still covered so got a brand new one with new game more memory new controller, extra 2 years cover and 2p change Only time anything gone so well for me. Be annoying if theyre recalled and stuff since got it within last year. Its fat 80gb one. Atleast its still covered though if anything goes wrong

Actually I hope I have no problems. Final Fantasy comes out next week and I won't be playing that on the 360. I bet it's better on the PS because it was developed for that system. So I'm going to cross my fingers.
