To anyone worrying they might not like this much in hand I was in the exact same boat. It sounds as if I'm making an excuse due to the cost but I'm genuinely really happy with the mohawk sculpt and in particular the paint ( I only picked up a Soldier set ). The clothing and accessories are phenomenal.

I just wish this would have been much easier to assemble.

Are the rounded ankle pegs supposed to go straight into the boots ?. Mine are very loose and I wouldn't want to glue them in since the legs would be stuck to the boots. Maybe a bit of blu tac but that always feels a little cheap to be doing to a rainman figure to me.

Yes. You need to glue the ankle pegs to the boots. I used blu tac though.

Blu tac or some tape around the rounded ankle peg would work I think.

I love this figure. I have the tiniest little critique though. I wish the we are the people button was magnetized. I was tempted to go with the talking to sport look but I feel the figure looks a bit strange with the button on if I was to go for that look.

Hey guys! I've been out of the loop a bit lately, but wanted to share a few pics of my Soldier version H & C set that came in the other day as well as my Cabbie Driver head needed to complete my low budget bash. I had to cut corners this time, but I'm happy with what I have for well under the price of one Full Figure set. Here's a few pics and my vid review!

These are marlindesigns photos from earlier, close as we have thus far I think

It is glaringly obvious in that picture. Aeons Iris's are massive anyone who can't see it, I want some of what you're smoking :cuckoo:

Don't get me wrong I love the sculpt

Again, I dont have the figure set in hand or anything, so this is just another guess here, but you might be able to cut a small piece of a balloon, and wrap it around the ankle peg. The rubber balloon should make the fit tight. Just an idea :dunno

I was a little worried at first too but as always once you get the one you own in front of you, it has a much bigger presence. I have to spend more time digging in today and I haven't built the Driver up yet but I did give everything in the box a solid inspection and I'm beyond happy with how this came out. This is what we expect from RM and he delivered!

I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about but there's a mod for the boots (maybe someone can dig that up). It's the same idea as the neck mod he gave us. You have to break the foot of a True Type to take out the cylinder that receives the foot peg. That gets glued into the boot

For the boots, the ankle peg itself won't fit in the hole RM made. You have to split a hot toys foot open and take the female cylinder out from it (the part that the ankle pegs fits into) and wrap it with blue tack (or you can glue it in, but be careful). With the cylinder attached to the ankle peg and leg of your figure, push it into the boot and it fits snugly. I did this with mine and it worked great, hope it helps.

I have a question. What do you do with the long white piece of elastic that is attached to the black holster? It doesn't seem necessary. The piece of elastic that wraps around his body on the brown holster seems to be all that's needed.... :dunno

I'm still looking for an M65 Bro Production or RM jacket...pm me if you can part with it I'll make you a SERIOUS offer

I finally got a chance to look at this carefully last night--I got the DX set and both Aeon sculpts as well--and what marlin shows in his pictures is precisely what I got. The Aeon sculpts actually have a better skin tone IMO, but the huge eyes are distracting. My cab driver also has the blush makeup look on the Rainman painted head, which is also a bit distracting. The Rainman soldier sculpt is the best painted of the bunch.

Regarding the mod to put the torso on, I used one of the recent KO narrow shoulder TT's and not a stock TTM-21, but the process should essentially be the same:

I found that the easiest way to handle this mod was to pry apart the TT abdomen, but leave one half of it in place, so that it is still propping up the little plastic tab under the spring. Then, you could use that piece to lift the tab up a bit, while sliding one half of the Rainman chest piece under it on the other side. Then, take the original piece out, put the arms and neck piece where they have to go, and use the RM piece in place to pry the spring up to put the other piece in place. I did find, however, that the screws that were in my original body held well in the lower holes in RM's chest, but didn't screw in very well in the upper holes. Perhaps because of that, there is a gap in his neck. If I knew I would keep him on this body permanently, I would glue it in place, but the cabbie head seems to sit low in relation to the shoulders somehow, so I might try a different body.

The mod actually wasn't that hard once I decided to keep the original abdomen piece in place, but the spring is extremely tight, meaning you have to put some real pressure on the Rainman pieces. Knowing that this is an expensive "art doll," most of us probably have an aversion to doing that, but there's really no way around it.

The screws I used for the upper section were longer, and so I had more success. Where or what they came from I have no idea, but the top ones need to be longer to get the good bite. I still have a slight gap at the seem but it is better with the long screws. I plan to glue mine shut once I've sorted out the arms situation.

Thanks for all the tips. This has definitely been the hardest figure to put together from the Rainman releases I've seen and had first hand.
I really think it'll be full set or nothing next time for me.

Longer screws for the top portion. Got it. When I settle in on the body/arms/mods and feel like everything is final I'm probably going to glue it shut also.

Having it all built is definitely part of the perks of a FS. I wish he gave an extra body option for the DFS's. The Soldier comes built but the Driver is DIY
