Ghostbusters (2016) - 2.5/10

Had a free redbox rental expiring tomorrow and my soon to be 8 year old daughter asked to see this, she loves the Original and is even dressing as a Ghostbuster this Halloween. Expected to not like it, but didn't want to sour her milk before she had a chance to drink it for herself, she made it halfway through before deciding she'd rather just go to bed. My OCD made me continue to watch it...

I didn't find anything in this movie to be funny, I didn't laugh once. I did think the mannequin scene was briefly entertaining and liked the Jaws reference, but that is it. I didn't hate Leslie Jones as much as I thought I would, that honor goes to Kate McKinnon, I despised every second she was on screen. The writing is terrible, they obviously spent a lot of money on this movie, even though the aesthetic of the FX are terrible, I'm sure it still cost a good deal of money. Next time, spend that money on good writers, though I really hope there is no next time, but Sony doesn't know when to quit so there probably will be.

I didn't go in with an open mind, but I hoped it might win me over. In the end, I just hated it even more than I thought I would.

I did laugh out loud…once. It was the scene where Higgins was flipping the bird.

The director recently said that a chunk of the budget went toward things that were tied to the movie license and not the film itself. That's why it ballooned to over 150 mil.

There's nothing that sets a "Pixar" movie apart from a "Disney Animation Studio" film.

Hmmm seems like a bit too much of a generalisation. It varies, IMO. Inside Out was one of last year's best films and far above its contemporaries.

Gods of Egypt 6/10 Liked it better than I thought I would. Three main characters was very good acting. The CGI was def hit and miss. Sometimes it looked great and some it looked terrible.

Legend Of Tarzan - 6/10 Liked this one as well much more than I thought I would. I'm a sucker for African lore though. LOL at SLJ in this movie. A complete miscast even though I love SLJ and he was funny in it as usual. But come on. A 60 something year old man running through the jungle of Africa? Gimme a break.

Central Intelligence - 6.5/10

I enjoy dumb humor for the most part and this movie didn't disappoint. Laughed pretty consistently through the whole thing. Didn't reinvent comedy, but a fun watch.

I'm so freaking pissed at lions gate, they gave out too many seats for my showing and thought we would get in but nah, the rep told us to screw off for not being three hours earlier than the actual showing

Biggest disappointment of the year. They took an excellent premise and attached a lame story, mediocre performances and cheap Pg-13 jump scares. Barely worth a watch.
