When i went to see toy story 3 today alot of people were studying the poster and trying to make out if this was a tie in to alien or whatever. It seems like people are curious, they really need to release a new trailer with more info on the movie.

Most kids nowadays (with the exception of me, being a hardcore Alien/Pred fan) don't know that Alien and Predator used to be seperate. If they hear "Alien," they think "Oh, yeah. AVP." I showed some of the leaked Predators photos to one of my friends and the first thing he asked was "So where are the Aliens?"

It's not that they're curious, but most of today's casual movie-goers have never even heard of the original films. Either that, or they can't put two and two together and realize that six movies featuring these baddies by themselves were made before the new ones they've based all of their judgments on. They say AVP-R sucked, which it did. As usual, they think that's the only one and, therefore, write off the entire saga of Alien and Pred stuff as crap.

It gets a little tedious stating that the first three Alien films, while some were better-recieved than others, were all directed by some of today's most highly-regarded directors and visionaries. You do what you can to get 'em the facts, but the bottom line is that Alien 1-4 and Predator 1-2 need to be brought back to re-educate our peeps.

:lol c'mon man..

People who don't like any of the Alien/Predator movies don't need to be "re-educated". Seeing all the original movies will not magically make them fans. It'll actually make it worse: because then they'll see how mediocre the films got. Of the six movies you mentioned only 3 were successful in North America: Alien, Aliens and Predator. All the other films flopped here.

Not to mention Predator, Predator 2, Alien and Aliens routinely come on TV so it's not like they're long lost films that haven't been viewed in ages (which you kinda imply).

The fact is, some people just don't like that genre of film. Or they aren't interested specifically in any of those films because nothing about them makes them wanna see 'em. Then there's also people who DO know about the original films.. and that's WHY they don't like AVP, AVP:R and aren't interested in anything new from those franchises. :lol

No big mystery.

It's kind of like how some people thought Halo was the first fps. :lol

New vid, showing the Falconer Pred jumping down...

Well if you think Alien, Aliens, and Predator are mediocre, then why do you care to watch this one Dev?

I don't care about watching this one. Like I said, I'll catch it on DVD or on TV.

But just to clarify: I never said Alien, Aliens and Predator were mediocre.

I said if people (who aren't familiar with all the films) watched all the movies like Blade suggested it would probably be bad because then they'd see how mediocre the films got.

For me, it's starts with Alien3 and Predator 2. Keep in mind, I happen to like both those movies. But there's no question they don't compare with Alien, Aliens and Predator.

Predator 2 specifically has some weird ass editing and cuts (to remove excess gore). And Alien3 ripped off the ending of Terminator 2. I still enjoy watching both. But neither are on par with Alien, Aliens or Predator IMO.

ooooh Ok. Misunderstood ya there broski.

Thought you were saying the big 3 aged and became lame now....which I would've disagreed. :D

Falconer jumps like his fat or something. Seems like the leap he made was kinda short and the actor doesnt like moving around in that suit too much. :(

Then you definitely won't like the scene that follows: He has to sit down and use his oxygen/respirator mask to catch his breath before exclaiming:

"I'm getting too..

*predator clicks*

..old for this s***"

Mimicking Danny Glover as Harrigan from Predator 2's voice. :wave

I thought most of the Predators from the images we saw a week ago looked fat and out of shape. And now that we see them in motion, like you said they look fat and out of shape in motion too.

They look strong, heavy and muscular to me. I liked the animalistic jump, better than some cheap ugly CG shot.

:goodpost: If I were at the helm as a director on any picture, I would always try and achieve it the old fashion way! :rock if all else fails then I'd look at CGI
