If you just remove the words Obi-Wan and Jedi from PT and replace them with "audience" then suddenly the whole trilogy makes perfect sense.

"If the audience saw me doing this they'd be very grumpy."

"Uh oh, not again, the audience is gonna kill me."

"From my point of view the audience is evil!"

"At last, the audience is no more."

See, it all fits.

Yep, minimal, but critical use of the force is best.

Yoda exhausting himself moving an x-wing
Not Anakin moving fruit for his girlfirend.

I missed the idea that using the force was a scaled thing...the more intense the "use" the more difficult and taxing it would be.

Thinking about it, I wonder if this was a symptom of Anakin's downfall? Him using the Force to do mundane things to impress his girlfriend shows a clear lack of respect for the Force, which of course can be related to his slide to the dark side.

Don't be silly, I never said I wanted the Force gone from Star Wars. That's DiFabio, but don't be fooled, he ain't a fan. Probably just pretends to like SW and ESB. His Batman movies failed him so he wanders in and out of SW threads, aimless, leaderless, divided.

I'm the only one that can unite this section.

Where only the most skilled Jedi could move huge things and not become totally exausted....

One of the reasons I HATED PT! It was like Jedi used the force to wipe their ass and it was no big deal. We Definetly do not get that with OT.

Also one of the biggest problems with the video games. Even your average Jedi was using the force to do things like yank tree trunks out of the ground and toss them at eachother, pull Star Destroyers out of space, and even move a freaking planet.

Rey is going to force push the next Death Star into a fleet of star destroyers.

All it takes is a hammerhead corvette class cruiser.

I feel like TFA was also trying to follow the OT model, which is why Rey beats Kylo, Kylo was exhausting himself using the force to "juice himself" after that crossbow blot.

Me. Neither.

Lets have....

LOTR without rings of power
TDK without gadgets and Bat transportation
Back to the Future without the Delorean
Indiana Jones without mystical elements
And Star Wars with out the force.

Star Wars without The Force is like non-alcoholic beer. Nobody wants it.

Jeez man, nobody does visuals like Disney...just wow on that front.

Damn, when are we getting a modern ROTJ style battle in space though.

Decided to have a look back in the thread since I avoided all discussion prior to release. Look at your quote above from August jye. Can you believe that RO not only delivered on the space battle with modern visuals we've always wanted but that they also kept it a SECRET?? It was unbelievable watching the first person view of the X-Wings coming out of hyperspace and engaging the Imperials above Scarif. I was literally going, "no way...no way...no way..." and then all the X-Wing leaders start checking in, including Red and Gold Leaders, they start engaging the enemy, and I was all, "no way...this is happening...THIS IS HAPPENING!!" :panic:

I always go back and re-read the first 10 pages of a movie thread after the movie is released, there is so much lolz to be mined from doing that.

Khev...like you I went in with only the first 2 trailers and I had the same reaction as yours.

I was aware that Jyn's dad worked for the empire, that was it.

Words truly can't describe seeing those ships filling up the screen coming out of hyperspace.

Seeing this a second time in 2 hours. :yess:

:yess: :yess:

I actually like that fight scene. Christopher Lee puts the OT cast to shame with his skills and movements. The only thing I don't like is when Lee throws Obi Wan to the side instead of killing him when he had him using telekinesis. It's like they needed Obi unconscious so that he didn't see Annie kill Lee.

The Jedi were bad ***** in the every form of media except the movies. In the cartoons Mace Windu defeated an entire battalion of enemy droids by himself. In the movies a whole group of Jedi could not even stop a group of battle droids.

Yeah, that's a good duel. The look on Lee's face when he's like "kill him" and he sees that he got played is priceless.

The only two things I don't like is Dooku flipping over the rail and when that catwalk falls onto Obi-Wan. That **** should have crushed him.

yeah I know Khev.....I was agreeing with you....I do not think I every agree with DiFabio..
