You and Prime Clone keep stating this as if anyone is confused about what LFL has declared as canon. It's not a secret, everybody knows.

It was actually in reply to the suggestion that RO was intended to "replace" ROTS.

I'm just glad that TFA and RO make such a corporate stance easy to ignore.

Aside from the several prequel references in RO. I'm afraid there's probably worse to come in VIII and IX.

And *no one* called it that, not even George, until many years later. And no, SW was not "retitled" soon after George knew there'd be a sequel. "A New Hope" didn't appear until ESB had already been in theaters a full year.

That's still hardly "prequel era".

Not a wholesale replacement. Jimmy Smits alone proves that. But I think they did a pretty masterful job of playing both sides with RO. They appeared to deliberately allow for it to be a continuation of ROTS if you want it to be while also giving full plausible deniability if you don't. That way you and I can both appreciate the movie. :)

They do, for sure. Can't say Johnson and Trevorrow will be as accommodating, however.

Yeah once midichlorians or Hayden Christensen return or the name "Padme" or prequel planets are mentioned then you'll definitely have your extensions of the PT and I won't deny it when the time comes. But I'll always have "muh theatrical OT, muh Joe Johnston, and muh Rogue One" and can just call it a day. :D

That's still hardly "prequel era".

ANH was added in the era of the OT but that actually being the official title didn't come until George started calling them all "Star Wars: Episode Bla Bla: Bla Bla Bla."

You've just taken your first step into a larger world. :)

khev actin' like he just took Ayahuasca with some ewoks and had a life changing on-the-other side kessel run break-through. :lol

We know. :lol

And they purposely have made it impossible to ignore, at least so far. I mean look at all the references difab posted, and that's just from a few scenes of RO. Same with TFA, there's plenty of references and callbacks. so it's not easy to ignore, you are just choosing too. :lol

If you guys really think that DiFabio's "PT references" aren't just old school "SW references" then you guys just don't know your saga history. But I know DiFabio knows that and he just likes to mess with me. Methinks he might be due another infraction from Darth Snoopy....

Irrelevant. TFA's concept art is chalk full of trashed PT technology on Jakku. ROTJ has stills of the Rancor fighting the dragon from Dragonslayer. Only the movie counts.

But yes I'm halfway expecting Hayden to reappear in 8 or 9. When Vader's bacta tank appeared in RO I literally braced myself to see a close-up of Hayden peering out the glass. Thank God that didn't happen.

To me their one chance to truly link RO to the PT would have been to have called out Mustafar by name. But they didn't, and that speaks volumes to me.

Khev, you lost. YIELD. Just admit it. It's okay, don't tire yourself out moving goal posts. The movie still has prequel Bail Organa and Mon Mothma.

And even then, like Zach said, your beloved TFA has,

- Max Von Sydow mentions the balance of the force (that originated from The Phantom Menace, not the OT)

- Kylo Ren telling Hux that they should use Clonetroopers instead since Finn, a FO trooper defected. (Anakin loved Clones btw, enough to save the pilots in ROTS, like grandfather like grandson)

- JJ got Ewan Mcgregor to record

- the official visual dictionary for Force Awakens states Captain Phasma's armor was crafted from the same alloy the Naboo starships once were

Hehehe

You'll miss me when I'm gone Khev. One these days you'll log on and I'll be banned forever with no amount of you pleading to Snoopy or Dave being able to bring me back . . .

Until that day, you listen to ME.

Stop confusing the younglings with such silliness. :thwak

Not all franchises bother to establish what is actually canon. Batman has been around over 75 years so obviously there are multiple interpretations. DC probably keeps track of the comic worlds, but each new film series or TV show is considered a reboot.

Whereas after the Disney takeover Lucasfilm declared what was canon and set up its own Story Group to keep track of it.

That's different, as batman has been completely rebooted more than once, universe and all, where Star Wars is a continuation. No way around that.

So what is officially canon now -- the films and the Rebels Cartoon? Everything else is trashed?

LIVE BY FIRE 10/10. Best G-men i have ever seen and probably the best movie This year, even then Affleck knocked it out of the ballpark as Director, damn, it was exceptionally good.
