Anyone care to venture what the rangers find in the 'cave scene' of the trailer - (after they travel through the water) - Commander Center or maybe Rita's containment chamber or something else altogether?

I'm getting Rita vibes because of the green shimmering....I'm probably wrong though.

Rita's containment chamber for sure :wink1:

Oh, dear....I just stumbled upon the IGN "Trailer Analysis" video for this movie....prepare for a series of geek-out posts.....

Meh.

Highlight was the guy pointing out a 'white tiger' sticker on the back of Jason's truck-ish thing. I thought that was pretty cool. :rock

If all else fails, we got an awesome trailer.....and I can live with that. :lol

I'm glad you enjoyed it man, but I just didn't see anything original in that trailer. Not one thing.

Again

when compared to this

new film looks like TDK.

I mean sure it'll probably be better than the show, but what isn't? I don't hate this because it looks different from the original, the original was painfully bad, I hate it because it looks like every other edgy teen flick Hollywood is making these days. The trailer was filled with nothing but cliche after cliche.

I'm with Riddick on this, just because the original property was terrible doesn't mean we should automatically praise this generic, soulless modern take on the Power Rangers. With a good director, that actually has a unique vision, something cool and original can be done with the property. The designs look bland, the trailer was filled with cliches, all of the main characters look boring, I just don't see what this has going for it.

Worst part is the same grey bleak colors we see in every movie these days that's trying to be grounded.

compared to that clip the new trailer might as well be a horror movie :lol

:lol :lol :lol

if this was NOT related to Power rangers and that trailer just came out. i think almost everyone in here would be laughing and hating on it.

nostalgia and brand loyalty is helping the movie a lot but i hope the next trailer is made better and more lively. (Im still praying that the movie is not going to be as dull as the trailer suggests)

Exactly, take Power Rangers out of the title and everyone would be calling this a Hunger Games, Divergent, Maze Runner ripoff.

I'm not expecting a dark film, not when the outfits and robots are so colorful. I think the first full trailer will give us a better idea of what to expect when we see the team in their costumes and we see some actions sequences. The teaser might be a little dark and generic, but they had to make it clear with the first teaser footage that this film is not the cheesy 90's show, but also appeal to a certain modern demographic that likes Hunger Games films and "teen" films. We'll see if the marketing changes later on, the same way the SS trailers changed when compared to the first comic con teaser. I'm not expecting anything ground braking from this movie, because I don't think the PR were that original to begin with, but from the looks of it the film is an updated version of the show with less silliness, and I think that's why people are interested.

I'm optimistic. The director doesn't have any big films so we'll see and the cinematographer has worked on some good tv shows and a few films, but the editors of the film have worked on films like Terminator 2, Fury, and Momento, so that's pretty good.

Max Landis Isn’t Happy About the ‘Power Rangers’ Trailer: ‘It Appears They Made Chronicle’

I didn't even know who that was and had to look it up :lol

Yep. I really don't know what the hell people wanted. The show was beyond campy. The look of the film being desaturated is just what they do nowadays and can't be helped. No one that was a big fan of the original really is worried about the teen drama in this since we can no longer relate to it, and were mostly in it just to see them become the Rangers and fight with the Zords. As long as they have the chemistry they did in the original, I don't care what the context of their individual situations are. It's a modern take on it, and by modern it looks like every teen superhero film. I can live with that as long as it has the spirit of the original.

Honestly after so many years dedicated to it in the 90s, I'm glad to see it not trying to be the campy mess that translated into the first film. It just didn't work on the main screen.

Andre and I are on the same page.

I liked this reaction vid, I was watching a bunch yesterday. I didn't see one that hated it.

They gave us two minutes, like with everything everyone has to knee-jerk react to it like they saw the whole film. It was dubbed "teaser" for a reason. They literally gave us next to nothing.

Agreed. He doesn't have anything I've ever heard of under his belt, but he didn't do any of the production, script or plot so as long as he can operate a camera and control shots, don't care. Haim Saban developed this, hence the title. I'd imagine he went into it trying to give the old fans something new and fresh, while developing a newer audience.

In all honesty, this is the first film in probably more than a decade that I'm truly excited to see. I just hope they keep it reigned in on liberties they take with it. It doesn't need to be a carbon copy, and frankly I don't want it to be. So in the end, just don't suck :lol

it is just a teaser but it does shows us the tone and the style. which are very important. Like i said before i actually like the cast a lot and i like what i saw from them, so i am glad that i wont hate any of them.

i hope the movie has humor. it doesnt need to be a comedy at all but i hope they have playful moments. I hate to say this but this teaser could have used the "marvel touch" :lol

I agree with Clown and Snake.

Even if it is derivative of teen angst dramas at least it will be the coolest of the teen angst dramas because of the property.

Giant robots yo.

Now...that being said yes of course this could obviously still suck lol.

Fantastic Four had no business being a teen angst movie from the start just like this movie has no business being anything other than a teen angst movie.

Some gloves are meant for certain hands.
