I respectfully disagree. Check my other post. Israel is God's time clock and when they became a nation in 1948 and got Jerusalem back in 1967 the clock started ticking.

Many religious scholars don't think what happened in 1948 is what the Bible is referring to and instead think it is talking about something that already happened 2 thousand years ago.

Well, many do think that's what it's referring to as well. I tend to side with them. We will see, but I know I try to live each day like the Lord could return. He tells us to be ready and watch so I try to.

A lot of it has to do with Israel and middle east events. A lot of it has to do with impending economic downfall of the US who is the major obsticle to world government as well as the US's seeming insistance on turning it's back on all things Godly while it continues to embrace lust and sin. This nation has nearly lost all of it's morality.

But most of it has to do with keeping an eye on Israel. Israel is God's time clock. With the downfall of nation leaders who kept the peace with Israel ( Egypt, Lebanon et al ) and seeing those nations on the verge of having groups like the Muslim Brotherhood take over who are of course hostile towards Israel as well as people like Obama stepping up efforts to try to force Israel to give up it's land and Jerusalm to the palestinians.......well, the writting is on the wall for the eventual move against Israel clearly in Bible prophecy.

Really? I'd rather see leaders put into place who actually care about its people vs "leaders" who don't give a **** about its people but are 'liked' because they are paid to support israel.

GEEZ! The end of the world is not near! We probably have thousands of years before it does happen. The world isn't even close to the state it needs to be in for the apocalypse to happen.

There is so much good going on and even though America isn't a very peaceful country right now,lots of other countries are at peace with each other and are moving forward.

Infact people in Asia and other countries don't give a ____ about this end of the world ____ and would laugh at you if you came crying to them with it.

Seriously why do some people ____ing think that what America is doing matters most??? Just because we're at war and our country is falling apart doesn't mean doomsday is near!!!!

Gawd! It's like people are saying "oh things are bad so I guess that means armageddon is near,lets just give up" Man up and ____ing do something to better society instead of sit around obsessing over the end of the world.

Dewey - Like me with the ant hill in my backyard. I spent days watching the ants, trying to figure out which ones were good, and which ones were bad, but they all just looked like ants, so I started smiting all of them.

Dewey - I was smiting them with the garden hose, and with lighter fluid, and with the lawnmower, and to be perfectly honest, I think I went a little crazy with the shovel. Those ants could have been praying to me all day, I wouldn't have heard them. *ponders* There was nothing they could do about it

Dewey - Really, it's the same with us. There's nothing we can do about anything either, so why worry about it? Hey, this is making me feel better.

Teacher - Well, that's good, but --

Dewey - I guess all we can do is live our lives with as much kindness and decency as possible, and try not to dwell on God standing over us with a giant shovel. Bye!

precisely. we need to make sure we live a good life such as God wants us but not live it worrying about doomsday all the time. if things are so bad and apocalypse is near then in the time we have left lets do all we can to fix everything.

how would you like to go out looking like? a species that failed and just waited on their impending destruction or one that went out looking like the ultimate achievers that we are?

i really,really hope all this doomsday crap is put to rest soon...

There's probably some concern that if America goes down they'll try and drag the rest of the world with them.

There's an arrogance among the US Government and many of it's citizens that won't accept anything less than being number 1 so I could believe that possibility a lot more easily than any religious nonsense.

Who said America matters most? I said Israel does. If you think we have thousands of years fine, but I'd say you don't know a great deal about biblical prophecy.

me, l always worry about a plane crashing into my house and killing me while l am in the living room watching TV. the odds of that l think are greater then doomsday.

And CLU, about 2 years ago I was where you are now with the "could be thousands of years from now" attitude. I started paying attention, researching and reading. Over the course of time I have seen enough line up that things are at minimum heading in that direction.

Also, I don't believe in "doomsday" and the end of the world at all. I believe in Christ returning to set up His kingdom. I'm not saying it's tomorrow or next week, but I beleive it's closer than many think meaning possibly sometime in the next 5-20 years with the current direction the world is going. Again, my opinion from what I've seen. Not saying it's a fact.
