Figure it will be at least twice the price of a PF. It would just depend on what it's going to made up of. If they make it too pricey, I'll probably have to pass on it.

One member here was pricing it in the $600 - $900 neighborhood. :horror

More than one member [myself included] has speculated to that price range, but that is exactly what it is at the moment...speculation. I predict we'll know the exact price two days before pre-ordering begins.....and that'll be in another 8-14 months. :lecture

You are compounding excessively long range (600-900 within 8-14 months). This means we are desperate for any and all info we can get about new material.

:lecture True, but it's still fun to see how people/fans perceive a particular figure, maquette, statue, etc. based on limited knowledge of the piece.
It makes for interesting conversation. :)

At this point in the picture, Sauron has come to a full stop surveying the land, looking West, probably towards Minas Tirith, or even to the Undying Lands where for a short time he actually served under Illuvator, the Creator.
This is just for the record, from the artist, explaining exactly what is going on in the scene, or at least my vision for it : )

JV

Sauron did not serve under Ilúvatar (one 'l', 'a' not 'o'). The only ones you could say served Him were the Valar and it was mostly Manwë who was in touch with Him... Sauron was a Maia who served Melkor/Morgoth :lecture

And since the Drowning of Númenor, the Undying Lands were not physically located in the West anymore (what? I can't help myself, I spent too much time reading this stuff!!) :dunno:monkey3:monkey1

Love the painting, do have the SSW statue and VERY happy with it but look forward to see what the PF version will look like.

Beren

P.S. Well, I guess, from a certain point of view, you could say Sauron served under, if one means he was in that camp and was a faithful servant of Aulë in the beginning (ok this part I had to look up... :monkey3)

If the PF comes with a light-up ring, I will definitely consider buying it. Maybe there could be magma lit up as well?

Well, yes, what you say is true according to the Sil, so I guess what I mean to say is that Sauron was ultimately under the sovereignty and authority of Ilúvatar, as was Mandos, and everyone else. And the Undying Lands were not physically located in the world any longer, but were banned from the Numenorians ( did I spell that right, :wink1: ) but they still exist on the straight road apart from the confines of the world,( the bent road )and are still Westward, if I remember rightly.
So in this piece, Sauron is looking Westward, to places he remembers in his "youth". Either way, Sauron is old, very old, and remembers many things from ancient days, and is gazing in the direction of the West, and can perhaps see things from afar that are invisible to mere mortals.

Now I will have to get this print and PF for sure because Sauron and I have something in common. :thud: :lol

I can confirm Frank's claim....:lecture

This is going to be THEEEE Centerpiece of my LOTR Pf's if I can afford him, even with flex it may be a struggle if he has a sky high $ tag. I am happy with my current SSW Sauron,

I'm really hoping sideshow gives us an extra swap out right arm for this pose for both the exclusive and normal versions...

I'll second that! I would like to be able to display it with that pose. I would be okay with it being the EX though.

That screencap is of Sauron reaching down towards Isildur and that kind of arm extended pose makes no sense based on Jerry's artwork or the story behind his artwork. Jerry's print is the excl. and I am more than happy with that. If SS can add a light-up ring feature to the PF....even better. But personally, I don't want a forced or contrived arm extended/ring displayed pose.

Then don't display it, it's a switch out. Best of both worlds display it how you like.
